Postby SejiYume » Sun Jun 19, 2011 12:32 pm

This is the CS Gazette, a new newspaper created to bring information and entertainment to our forum! Here we will write about everything that has to do with CS! Please take some time to read our newspaper, enjoy the stamps, and browse through our table of contents. Everyone is welcome to post on our thread, but please stay on topic. Now start reading! :)

Volume 1, Edition 4

General Helpers!

There was plenty of excitement going around the site about the new General Helpers and who they would be. Everyone who had sent in an application was both nervous and hopeful. Well, as I am sure you all know, the newest CS Staff members are as follows!

Tuike
Spotty
HaloFire
Ocelot at Soul
Olivia
Minimanta
.: T O K I :.
Roonie-Roe

Everyone gave them their congratulations and a warm welcome, though some where disappointed at not being picked. One applicant in particular who did get chosen is actually a CS Gazette staff member! .: T O K I :. is the Assistant Manager and we where very excited for her when the news came. I interviewed her to find out her thoughts and here's what she said.

Why did you want to be a General Helper?
As most, the main reason I wanted to become a General Helper is because I love helping people out! I think it would better help me get involved in my community, and particularly boards which I may not normally visit. Though, it may be easier to just quote what I said in my application. ^-^

Of course as many before me, the main reason I want to be a General Helper is because I love helping people out. I feel that out of all the positions available on ChickenSmoothie, the General Helper would best suit me. The "job" suits me as a person, I find it good for experience, and it isn't too stressful or demanding as moderating. I feel I can be friendly and helpful, whereas something bigger would feel more like a duty as opposed to volunteering. I don't get angered easily, and if at all, it's all passive anger. If anything were to happen, which I hope won't, I'm quite a logical person and I appeal discussions with more logic and credibility than by emotions, but also with tact. Overall, I hope that by being a General Helper, I can better work to helping the community and helping myself by working with others, both new and old.

Were you confident that you would be chosen?
Well, I guess that's a bit half and half. Part of me was confident because I know I have had experience with helping out members (but on ChickenSmoothie and other forums). After poking around applications a bit, I also came to realize I had been more active than many and such. The other half of me wasn't as confident because I had seen some long time players, some more active and helpful than I, put in an application. However, my friends had all been telling me I would get it (even if I didn't believe them at the time). They helped my confidence a whole lot too. :3

How did you feel when you found out that you where a General Helper?
Oh goodness. XD Well, I actually found out before it was announced. It was announced Thursday night, so I believe I found out Sunday. Anyway, at the time, I was actually on my microphone on Livestream. XD; So... a few of my friends had seen me, and my god. I just... I don't even know. I think I got high. P: I just couldn't stop laughing, but it was a great feeling. :'D

What are your duties now that you are a General Helper?
Just doing what I've always been doing, helping out members. ^-^ We're not moderators, we're just like regular members only with a colored name. That just helps direct players specifically to us, questions like how to link images, etc. For me, most of the time, I get questions about rarities. However, I've gotten many questions on other general concepts, so I'm open to anything really. :3

Do you enjoy your job?
Of course, otherwise I wouldn't have applied. ^-^

Did you choose your own color?
Nope. :3 All General Helpers are the same color, just as all Global Moderators are the same color, etc. It's like, everyone in so-and-so group is so-and-so color.

Will you still work at the CS Gazette?
Definitely! :3 My active threads haven't changed. ;3

We are all proud of you .:T O K I:.! Congratulations!

Wicked's Roleplay Corner

Writer's Block: That bane of writers is a problem for roleplayers as well. But, how do you overcome something so crippling? I have gone through some hard bouts of writer's block, and these tips are things that have worked for me before. Feel free to use these in any combination. It may only take one, or it may take all of them.

1. Read a good book
I find that reading another author's work can be just the thing needed to get creative juices flowing. The way the characters interact and the way the writer puts the words on the page gives me ideas of how to continue forward.

2. Watch an amazing movie
I recently watched Super 8. I loved it. While watching it, I could feel the creativity coming back. It seems to work best if it is a movie not seen before, and genres that work best (at least for me) are action, adventure and fantasy based ones. NOTE: That rush of muse does not last long. Think of it as a kickstart to get you going again. It must be used quickly or it will fade away.

3. Take a short break from writing
Sometimes, all that's needed is a short break. If the break ends up lasting longer than two weeks...

4. Make yourself write something.
This may seem odd, but sometimes this is the only cure. It can be a short story, a different genre that you usually don't do, or something else entirely. Anything can help. Don't be too hard on your self if you just can't think of something to write. This is mostly a "tried everything" move.

So, I hope some of these tips prove to be helpful for you. As always, if you have any questions about roleplaying that you would like me to discuss, comments, questions or concerns, please PM me here! All questions and discussion ideas will be addressed in the near future, and all messages will receive a reply.

Artist Interview—Marquee de la Mare

With so many great writers here on good old CS, it's pretty hard to pick who to interview, with a specimen of their original work. So I just picked a friend of mine, the ever-conceited Marquee. Yup, you guessed it.

So Marquee de la Mare, what do you like to write about?
Oh, you know, the usual. Death, hate, despair, love, death squared. All of it makes for a lovely poem.
Erm... How positive. What inspires you?
SejiYume... And death, despair, yadda yadda yadda. And another good friend of mine, Study-hall! Can't forget another amigo, who moons over a certain... someone. Emotions make great building-clay.
Again, I must repeat how lovely and charming you sound. Do you write a lot?
You betcha I do! I could give you about, meh, 20 poems. If you want an amazing example...
So, an example? Of course
Look at me, look in my eyes
Review the hurt, the pain the lies.

They're ain't no going back,
Too far gone down that track

If I can change everything back I will,
But love just goes back to kill

All the happiness, divided by hate,
But no, it's too hard, too late.

Look in my eyes, and what do you see?
The monster's here, no longer me.

What happened, what happened to you?
What went wrong what did I do?

Now answer the truth, just answer one time,
Is your heart really broken, is that what you mimed?

Have you ever loved, and ever wanted,
Stare me in the face and tell me you're daunted.

Tell me again, tell me you've loved,
That you weren't pulled to me, and pushed and shoved.

What brought you, what drew you here?
I know it not be love, was it hate my dear?

I played with fire, I got burned, too deep was my desire.
I feel I'm losing, falling slowly-of this life I tire.

Wow that was good, would you like to say anything before this gets wrapped up?
Imma change my name for Halloween to "Narbat"

September Outcomes

September was a very good month for pets, as we got a lot of popular, beautiful, interesting animals that have become favorites to many members. Our first surprise was the first litter of 2nd generation cats, bred by guest artist Solloby! They were a cross between the Blue Rainbow cat and the Cream Spotted cat from the house cat litter. I was a little skeptical at first, but they turned out great, and I was super excited to have them.
Disabledllama and Leurai, now an official artist, gave us two neat rat litters. From Leurai we received a yummy, pink, blue, and yellow colored treat litter, and Disabledllama started Halloween off early with a slightly-sinister unlucky numbers litter.
More Malks were in store for this month, but neither of them were actually designed by Malk. Rincon delivered a beautiful natural spider litter that even some non spider-lovers really liked. Leurai gave us our 3rd owl litter of the year, gorgeous, blue, black, and white colored owls that seem like you could reach out and touch them.
The butterfly wolves were pretty cool as well, with two marvelous litters. The first, by Disabledllama, was a swirled beauty in five different colors. The second, by Rincon, was all in shades of brown, and reminded my of coffee. Yum!
Yulyhn didn't fail to impress either. Her pony litter, originally dubbed 'ponycakes,' turned out to be a group of six delicious pastries. It took everyone a little while to figure out what her neon, glowing, somewhat skeletal horses were based off-Daft Punk, the band that did the soundtrack for Tron.
You're probably exhausted by all the pets I've told you about, but the best pets this month were the dogs. Leurai delivered a stunning litter of three with geometric patterns and blue highlights, nicknamed 'blue tribals'. One of the most popular pets was Sorren Fey's stunning 'Duck Dog' litter, all Spaniels and named after the duck on their blanket. Their big ears and many designs captured CS's heart. Better yet-there are two PPS's, both adoptable.
Last-but not least, comes my favorite litter, the storm litter, made by Selcouth. One dog has rainwater streaking off its fur, and the others have different types of clouds that almost look 3-D. Who says the rain isn't pretty?
Overall, we had a stunning show of pets this September. Let's give a big thanks to all our wonderful artists who put so much talent into what they do!

Artist Interview—Bleeding Rose

Rain falls on the window
As the tears stream down my face
I remember you
The smiles
The happiness
Before you left that day
You promised that you would never leave me
You promised that you would be back soon
Where did you go?

The next time I saw you
You were still and cold,
Another lifeless body
Helpless and broken
Blue eyes, forever closed
What happened to you?

I wait by the door
Every second
Of every day
For you to come
Home.

Hello this is an interview of one of the artists of CS. This person is very good at what she does. She encourages other people to do it and has even started her own thread about it. She got me hooked on writing poetry and as you see in my signature I have visited and written a few poems in this thread. She is a great writer and that is why I decided to interview her for our first artist of CS. The questions are asked by me and Bleeding Rose will answer them.

First question: How do you get inspiration for most of your poetry?
Answer 1.) Occasionally real life, but usually it's just about stuff that I saw on TV.Or just random poems..
Question 2: When did you start poetry?
Answer 2.) I started writing poetry about year four or five, I vividly remember freaking out some teachers in year six with a scary poem that I wrote.
Question 3: Why do you enjoy writing poetry?
Answer 3.) Because I can put many details into poems that I find hard to put into stories, Also probably because I am incredibly impatient and I don't really write stories.

Yes Bleeding Rose is a great a great writer and poet. An artist some would call her. If you would like to read more poems by her check out her thread
Random Poetry and Short Stories It’s filled with her work and many others. I encourage everyone to check it out.

Are you good at grammar and spelling?- Yes, and if I ever slip up Firefox is my friend :P
Anything you like or are particularly good at?- I don't think so, but I'm not the one to write anything on rarities and such.
Other (optional)- I technically was ever accepted on the other forum so I thought I might as well apply again,

Awesome kim, thanks for posting!

@lydia two-Maybe you could write about pets that came out. Or summer. Or people's favorite dreampets. Or hoarders vs. non hoarders. The possibilities are endless. I'm doing an article on the owls, so that's taken, but you can do anything else.

It should definitely be the green sorbet, it's a VR and it's a very old pet, could've been a CS mascot.. :3

Just stating my opinion. x3

By the way, I won't be online July 24th (and so on.).

@Wicked-Thanks :) And I have your article.

@kim-That's fine. I understand, I had finals last week.

The green sorbet could be our mascot, but I'm going to see if anyone else has something. I know someone has a balloon dog, that would be good.
