Mayhem revels in the dark and foggy nights of October. Xe was born under October's full moon after all, and the spooky is xes safe place. However, xe feared for this year, as xes gob had been banished and those who were reined in by him now walk free, including that blasted Gobbess! Mayhem's paws curled in anger as he stalked toward the Gooween festivities.
Something pulled xe out of xes anger though: a small tent, unlabeled but decorated entirely in the colors of the banished Gob. What's this...?
As Mayhem stepped inside the tent, xe noticed a board in the center of it. The handwritten sign next to it read, "Behold the honk board, your ticket to communicating with Jystyr!"
Honk board? Commune with Jystyr?! Mayhem glanced at the board, and, predictably, noticed it was covered entirely in the word "honk." His language...
Unspeakable joy began to bubble in xem as they took in what this meant. Jystyr... is alive?? I can communicate with him?? Mayhem giggled and immediately set to work honking out xes message to the long-gone Gob.
...
After half an hour's work, Mayhem sat back. It was done. The question was longer than xe would have liked, courtesy of xes overexplaining, but it did its job, xe supposed.
Mayhem dug around in xes bag for xes signature rubber ducks, pulled one out, and placed it on the table next to the honk board.
As Mayhem bounced out of the small tent, xe sent one last thought out to the banished Gob.
See you soon, Jystyr.
raindrops stared at the honk board, unsure of what question to ask. multiple possibilities swirled through the agel’s mind, but one peaked their curiosity the most. sure, there are so many more potentially useful or important questions to ask, but raindrops was very interested to know what instrument the gob prefers the most. if they even get a response, in the first place.
after asking their question, raindrops began talking to the honk board about their favorite instrument, the guitar. maybe it’d encourage jystyr to give it some thought? they shrugged, not wanting to force anything. ‘it must be a lot to have so many goobs asking you questions.’ [109 words]
