this is quite the event. bram and rune have an open invitation of sorts to a séance to communicate with jystyr. the two scientists are surely at their wits end if they're relying on something as entirely unfounded as an ouija board... you point out that the board might be... a little bit "extra" in terms of communicating with a clown who can only say "honk". begrudgingly, rune agrees, and you work with bram to create a much more fitting ouija board. (essentially, you remove every letter that doesn't make up the word "honk".)

with the board settled, the two scientists begin to almost bicker again... of all things to discuss, they argue over who has to translate for their visitors. "i haven't practiced in a while, but i'm confident in my... honk!" there is momentary silence, before rune cracks a smirk. "you were trying to say 'skills' weren't you? you entirely missed the proper pitch of the 'o'. my beloved fool, perhaps this'll be good practice for your linguistic skills." bram turns a color embarrassed before retorting. "well, you could use some practice too! we'll both need to be ready for when... jystyr comes back!" there is a solemn mood that follows his hopeful tone, until rune eventually nods with resolve. "...for jystyr." "for jystyr! let the experiment begin!!"

question: what’s your favorite metal?
additional content: ‘Gauntlet’, as the creature inhabiting this body currently calls itself, sees no use in an experiment like this. What are the chances this will even work…? No matter. She supposes it won’t hurt to ask a question; to satisfy her own curiosity, if nothing else. Gauntlet flicks her mane away from her face, humming as she thinks of what sort of question to ask.
Nothing too important- she doesn’t know if this is worth her time yet, so it’s best to keep it simple. Gauntlet fixes her golden gaze on the honk board, before speaking.
“So, Jystyr, was it?” She greets, “I suppose I have a question to ask of you. What’s your favorite metal? I’m partial to gold, of course… although, being trapped in a molten lake of it certainly tests my enthusiasm… still, I’m not here to ramble. So, what is it? Copper? Iron? Silver, perhaps?”

A small, shy goobie first approaches the scientist. Eager to at least attempt communication with the dead gob.

The bright yellow of the mask covering their face only seems to cover half tonight. Showing off their true face to all who look their way. Perhaps the joy of goobies celebrating Goo-o-ween is enough for them to show themself, even if just a little.

Their voice is then quiet as they speak, soft, and carrying the sorrow that they have felt for the lost gob.

"I... Only wish to know if he is okay, wherever he is. I don't believe he's gone, not completely. And I know it's a silly thing to ask someone who's..." Their mask shifts to cover most of their face as they hesitate on the word 'dead'. That word alone brings them lost of dread and anguish. "But I want him to know I still care."

additional content: When Lily, along with her sibling Hope and best friend Shell, heard of the invitation to try to communicate with Jystyr, they all immediately agreed to go together. Ever since that day when Fallen and Jystyr fought, the three had been wondering about him, hoping he is okay, and hoping that he will be able to return soon. And so they came, approaching Bram and Rune with hopeful expressions. When it came time to ask a question, Hope and Shell turned to Lily to ask the most pressing question on all three of their minds. "Hi, Jystyr. We want to ask... How are you?"

Cinder gazed down at the mysterious board before him. Surely... this strange device couldn't commune with the deceased Jystyr? Despite his doubts and paired with the distant background noise of the bickering scientists, he brings his paws to the planchette and poses his question aloud. "Are you nearby, Jystyr?" As he speaks, the candles nearby seem to waver, barely perceptible, but Cinder's glowing yellow eyes follow the small glass piece for any sign of movement. Any sign that their beloved Gob is still out there, somewhere... perhaps far beyond the now starless sky.

additional content: Artemisia is the kind of goobie that can't exactly hide her true feelings; you can read everything on her perfectly unamused face. A snarky grin flashes across her face. "You two really think this art project is going to connect you? Seems a little rudimentary at best," she commented, scrutinizing the board on the table in front of her. Some séance she thought, moving closer to read the board.
"And you call this what, exactly?"
Bram was still bustling about the dank and ill-lit lab, optimistically and almost proudly declaring the board's nomer, "A honk board, of course!"
"A...honk board," Artemisia repeated, trying to taste the syllables as they wandered off of her forked tongue.
I knew tonight would be interesting, but I didn't expect a D.I.Y. Ouija board minus twenty-two letters.
Artemisia took out her sketch book, scratching out a rough outline of the lab itself, Rune and Bram included in the background, with the "honk board" as the main focal point. She rests in the lab stool directly in front of the board, almost drawn to it. She puts her charcoal and sketchbook down to touch the board.
This is foolish...worthless. Right? Nothing will happen.
The goobie's eyes and horns flushed green, her tell giving her fear and shame away. She usually can keep her cool, but the chill running down her goo-spine was enough to shift.
She placed both her paws on the board to form a connection, or at least, that's what she assumed she should do. In as quiet a voice as she could muster, she whispered to the board, "Can you show me a sign?" She looked around the lab, half hoping and half testing the water to see if anything would happen.
