Extra: Caterpillar mumbles to himself as he enters the mines, not even making eye contact with the foreman as he passes. Which isn't actually unusual given his lack of eyes. The mumbling is a little odd though.

He found himself lightly tracing the carving, staring dead eyed back at him. This wasn't like anything he had seen before, no, but it definitely was something he didn't like.

Dragging it home was an ordeal in itself, Hunter was forced to wrap the tattered shirt he found around the fossil and drag it backwards until the shirt unsurprisingly tore. It wasn't that it was too heavy, but his arms ached from digging that long.

He didn't suddenly wake up in the middle of the doorway this time, but for some reason that disturbed him more. The walls of the pit were completely, utterly devoid of sound and life the lower he went. No voice rang in his head this time, nothing at all. Like it was stalking him. Hunting him.

In retrospect, hunter was pretty glad he didn't have to go down a third time today.

Once he managed to drag it home, he pushed it into the corner. Stepping back to properly look at it, he quickly decided to turn its face towards the wall so it wasn't looking back.

When the booths opened after the weekend hunter beelined for the pit, no longer bothering to put it off and drag himself towards the darkness. To his death, the more logical part of him whispered.

He gave a cursory glance at the sign and did a double take.

"You got sued??" How did he...actually it wasn't that surprising.

"Fined. Are ya gonna go or not?"

"...Sure. Nothing else to lose."
