This might be a good time to claim mine... :3c My dog was (as many people guessed)... the tamagotchi dog!!



I started with a Barbie-ish idea, then somehow ended up with more of a late 90s / early 2000s skater vibe! Her style was inspired by the glittery look of anime from around that time, particularly Sailor Moon. Her face was especially inspired by the cats from that series (pic for reference)! As Vampiric mentioned, it wasn't intentional, but I absolutely love how complimentary our dogs came out!!

Anyways, her name is Tammy :D

(I'd also like to mention that this question by @Saphiric made on September 1 (before ANY of the dogs had grown) made me worry that I had somehow leaked my dog early... xD)

Question for all of this years artists:
Will your creations be classified as cat or dog lines in the archives? I only ask because one of them is more cat like...etc. thank you for answering, if it's not too late.:)

Pets in the archive are always tagged as their base lineart, not based on their appearance. Although staff pets are often heavily edited to look like other animals, they are all done on the dog lineart and so will be archived as dogs.

Yes, and by default is is xem’s, which we were all assuming anyways!

This year’s staff pups are all so awesome! It’s been so much fun trying to figure out who make which pup. I love them all and I appreciate all the work the staff pup into this pups and their hints, too! ❤️

The staff did an amazing job this year!
Although 2018 will always be my favorite color scheme, I am a sucker for pinks.

Kody is such a sweet lookin pupper. Plus the story behind the design <3. I'm a sucker for long tails too.



Favorite #2:
Vampiric did an awesome job with this skater pup! It gives me such Sk8 the Infinity vibes and I love it so much. <3



Favorite #3:
Tammy is such my spirit animal. As a 90's baby who loves Tamagotchi and Sailor Moon, this one is perfect <3 I LOVE the Sailor Moon eyes. 10 out of 10.

I want to talk about my favourite staff pets this year too!


My favourite is probably The Omen. I like a little horror in my pretty from time to time, and I adore the rips in the wings and how rundown yet polished the overall design looks. The use of the colour palette is amazing, with the green-yellow gradient and purple accents it feels like every colour has been used equally without looking too bright or colourful. Nailed the vibe.

This means a lot to me -- thank you, and I'm glad you like The Omen!
