Staff Litter 2023 Discussion Thread

Question for all of this years artists:
Will your creations be classified as cat or dog lines in the archives? I only ask because one of them is more cat like...etc. thank you for answering, if it's not too late.

Random question, but some of the September pups - the three headed one primarily - don't show up on the archive for me. Is this happening for anybody else, or am I maybe just missing something, like maybe it was a specific day that I had to adopt those pets, etc?

I wanted to add it to my WL since I don't have one but it's not there 😅

The artist may not have claimed it yet, and staff pups don't (usually) get added to the archive until then! Also, if they were claimed, since it's only been a couple days since they all finished growing the archivist may just not have had time to add them yet. They'll be there soon!

Not very pup related, but a fun fact-, the photoshop file name for my staff pet is called "RAIRE.psd" 😂😂😂

Oh man, i really can't pick a favorite this year, not even a top 5!! (and I really tried) So many wonderful pets!! You guys really went above and beyond this year!! ♥

Does anyone have any more lore they would like to share about their pup? Quirks? Personality? Origin?

Oh yeah the fun little sidenote on my dog, not really personality related or anything, was that the first draft was too much and I had the reel myself back haha. I went too ambitious and had to make her a little more like her pup stage which is why the pup stage was so detailed! At first, the pup stage would have been very uh... not actually indicative of how far I went; the original idea was more like a bug centaur and trust me it was a lot XD This version is MUCH more compact and a bit cuter (the original was cute too though!)

part of the origin story of my work here is a callback too. Back when I was much younger, I started out on horror themed art and over time, and because of how I used to suffer from incredible nightmares because of being shown horror movies from a young age XD, I learned to see personality and even things to relate to in what has been considered scary in movie monsters. Part of my personal mission as an artist is to be able to depict things that are sometimes scary, things that I have come to like and be inspired by (like bugs), in a way that is easily digestible and not as frightening as they would be otherwise! Obviously it's not a catch all but... it's worth it to be mindful! Plus I used to hang out with praying mantis as a kid while I was searching the yard for lizards. They make me think of good memories <33

Probably my number one fave this year, I love the soft pastel colors. Such lovely use of the color scheme this year <3
