Patrolling (Nightfall); Nightfall's patrol found ten pebbles!

Patrolling (Aristaeus); Aristaeus' patrol started off well. Despite the chilly wind of leaf-fall, the patrol's spirits were not dampened. Suddenly, Mousefang's ears perked and he walked away. Being at the back of the patrol, no one noticed his absence till a few minutes later. Mousefang padded towards a delicious smell and discovered a dead mouse on the ground. Looking around to make sure no predator left their kill lying around, Mousefang picked it up but started convulsing. He dropped the mouse, trying to fight the effects of the twoleg-poisoned mouse. By the time the patrol found him, he was already gone.

His wounds were critical, lacerations found in his shoulders and one of his back legs from the fall, but he'll live. His treatment requires -1 blackberry leaves, -1 mallow leaves, -1 daisy leaves, and three moons of rest.

↪ The patrols are welcomed home with an unusual amount of excitement from the Clanmates who stayed in camp, the kits charged up to Thistletuft and gave their own accounts about some weirdo Carrotstar welcomed who dropped off a tasty array of +1 hare, +1 shrew, +1 small fish, +1 big fish, and +1 sparrow before leaving. Thistletuft simply laughs.

↪ Sunsetfall's patrol was uneventful.

↪ Briardawn's patrol headed home early after the patrol leader got injured.
xx↳ Briardawn is taken by surprise when his back leg is caught in a twoleg trap, collapsing to the ground with a silent wheeze as his brain tries to process the amount of pressure the trap is putting onto his leg. All at once the pain hits him, and the ear-ringing yowl that finally claws its way out of his throat is enough to alert his patrolmates to stop meddling by the water and help get the injured warrior free. In his panic Briardawn tries to shake the trap off his leg, ultimately doing more harm, and only by the grace of StarClan do Mayflower and Quickflow subdue him enough to loosen the trap and set Briardawn free. Once he's assisted to camp, the medicine cats waste no time on treatment with -1 cobwebs, -1 dock leaves, and -1 elder leaves. He'll need two moons of rest to make a recovery, but the medicine cats warn him that his leg will never be the same - permanently scarred and weaker than the others.

↪ Bonecloud's patrol headed home early as some injuries halted their progress.
xx↳ Driftwoodfall's paws became cracked after traversing on cold, solid ground for too long. He'll need -1 dock leaves.

↪ Fieldpaw learned the tracking skill!
xx↳ Fieldpaw, too focused on her training, ignored a deep cut on her cheek that began to stink with infection by the end of her lesson. After it started hurting her to even speak in long sentences, the medicine cats started up a treatment of -1 horsetail, -1 daisy leaves, and one moon of rest before she can resume training.
xx↳ Glowpaw failed to get a hang of tracking, but can try again as soon as next moon.

↪ Ashpaw, Owlpaw, Rabbitpaw, Lunepaw, Dunepaw, and Etoilepaw learned the combat skill!
xx↳ Rabbitpaw dislocated a joint in right hind leg during a tussle and requires one moon of rest.

↪ Soleilpaw, Mercurypaw, Ploverpaw, and Clementinepaw learned the fishing skill!

xx↳ Tangerinepaw became so sore after training that he didn't even want to leave his nest the following morning; he felt lousy and unaccomplished as his denmates and their mentors left to the training grounds without him, but Dappledawn assured him that what he feeling was normal - sometimes you push your body too hard and it needs to recover! With one moon of rest, he'll be ready to go again.

Falconfire's patrol was stalled by a surprise snowstorm, so they took shelter in an abandoned twoleg hut to wait out the storm before they headed home. Falconfire offered to take watch while the rest of her cats slept, feeling responsible due to her rank as hunting captain and because she didn't want any more harm to come to her patrol after Grizzlybear and Acornstep were weakened by injury. She huddled by the opening crack in the wood, curling her lip as cold snow flurries swept in and tickled her nose.

She peered outside, hoping to see the snow dying down, but her eyes narrowed suspiciously as a dark form of a cat began padding toward the hut. Falconfire looked toward the rest of her patrol, seemingly still asleep, and decided she could meet the cat herself. If worse came to worst, she knew everyone would wake should she need to call for help.

She exited the hut, shivering immediately as snow battered her calico-speckled fur, but stared resolutely as the broad tabby came up to meet her. The tom's eyes lightened up as if he recognized her. "You were Charstar's apprentice, weren't you? You've really grown!" He mewed, voice tinged with a purr. Falconfire was initially confused, until she remembered stories from a chilly season ages ago where Charstar, among other patrol leaders, and the Clan's healers, returned home laden with supplies and all saying that were helped by the same cat. Falconfire was stunned that he returned once more, and that she was one he sought out.

When the rest of the patrol woke up, the snow had died down and the sky had cleared up for a safe passage home. However, everyone was confused to find Falconfire sorting through a sudden boon of +1 frog, +1 hare, +1 trout, +1 snake, and +1 minnow, and the hunting caption purred in satisfaction as she relayed the story of what happened during their nap.

↪ Foxstar's patrol worked in perfect harmony to drive the badger away from their territory, making Foxstar beam in pride as frightened animal hollered before lumbering away from the large number of cats into the distance beyond their borders. They were lucky not to have been dealt any injuries!

↪ Cirruspatch's patrol recruited a determined apprentice! The little cat claims they were guided here by a tabby cat who said the ChaosClan was where they would be taken care of.

↪ Pigeonchorus's patrol scrambled to safety when a small earthquake rattled the land, but Cuckoowhistle fell behind as she helped her Clanmates stay balanced when the rattling ground threatened to knock everyone over. She can't recall who screamed her name as a mass of debris buried her alive, but Cuckoowhistle could at least feel herself get retrieved and quickly hoisted back to camp as soon as her patrol was able to help her. She spent her last few days in a barely-conscious state, but felt a constant stream of security as she was often visited by friends. Fleabite, Laurelbreeze, Midgestorm and Songbirdecho were all laying by her nest when Chivewhisker beckoned them forth to say goodbye, and the young cats gasped as they noticed Cuckoowhistle give them a final, faint smile as she took her last breath.

xx↳ Walnutpaw scraped his left shoulder opened after accidentally tumbling down a rocky hill when he was too hyper-focused on following a trail, but he can continue training once he's treated with -1 lamb's ear, -1 blackberry leaves, and one moon of rest.

↪ Viperpaw, Goldfishpaw, Vireopaw, Sarsaparillapaw, Lakepaw, Typhoonpaw, and Tempestpaw learned the stealth skill!

xx↳ Sparrowpaw lost his balance during climbing training, falling from a high cliff and unable to right himself in time before he collapsed in a pitiful heap on the ground. Orchardpatch, terrified of losing their apprentice, panicked as they tried to rouse him and only heaved a sigh of relief when they heard him groan. Taking him back to camp, the medics remarked that it was amazing that he didn't break anything, but the injuries he sustained were critical and the amount of blood he lost in his left hind leg especially left him in no condition to continue training. He'll need -2 lavender, -1 moss, and three moons of rest.

↪ Lightningspiral and Thundertrail caught +1 cottontail, the two siblings' hunt was seamlessly and they found themselves laughing as they raced after their prey through the plains as if they had never been separated to begin with.

↪ Returning home, the Sunspire cats were astounded to find a fresh assortment of +1 scavenged deer, +1 mallard, +1 mouse, +1 lizard, and +1 cottontail already stocked in their fresh-kill pile. Thunderchaser blinked once, twice, three times in confusion before turning to the others and asking if they had anything to do with it, but everyone was just as flabbergasted. After a lot of poking and prodding to ensure nothing was poisoned, they decide to accept the mysterious bounty. A black tabby tom watches from the cliffs that loom over the camp, smiling to himself before turning away from the young colony.

↪ Thunderchaser and Peachsiren were bewildered when a small kitten trotted into camp just before they were about to head out, the kit confidently introduces themself as Espalier to the adults, and requests immediate lodgings for themself and their elderly caretaker, who they claim is waiting just outside the camp. Thunderchaser guffaws at the request, taken aback by these strange turn of events for the second time today. Peachsiren creeps past the lone star as he tries to get a decent explanation from the kit, and makes the acquaintance of the elderly black cat hiding in a feeble patch of shade. They do confirm that they want to become a Sunspire member, and that they were directed here by a thick-furred tabby tom who ensured that this was a safe place to live.

↪ Lightningspiral and Peachsiren relax under a shaded tree, taking a break from patrolling the borders and just laying in calm silence. The silence doesn't last long though as the two black-and-white cats ears' twitch when they swear they hear the sound of playing kits nearby. They turn to look at each other, and confirm their suspicions with a single glance - they both heard it. Together they creep toward the noise, finding a trio of three cats who also took shelter from the sun's rays. The oldest, a uniquely-colored tabby, quickly clamors to their feet and protectively shoves the kits under their belly. After some reassurance that the Sunspire cats mean them no harm Goathiss, Osprey, and Coot are taken to camp.

↪ Too much has happened in a single day for Thunderchaser to handle at the moment, so she decided to leave the camp in Peachsiren's care while he goes on a walk to clear her mind. Imagine his surprise when he found +1 wood sorrel, +1 elder leaves, +1 dried oak leaves, +1 chamomile, and +1 tormentil, neatly arranged on top of a large leaf as if left there on purpose. Thunderchaser's eyes narrow as she sniffs around, suspecting a trap. But there was nothing to be found. He decides to wrap up the herbs and take them back to camp, still unaware of the mysterious benefactor who helped her newly-forming colony.

↪ Marlon's patrol encountered a new cat! They call themself Ripley - Ripley lets the others know that they didn't come alone and befriended a blind, pregnant cat during their travels. They often spoke of a colony in the area that a tom told them about, and once the tom led them to Ripley, he departed and left the two to discover Earthfall on their own.

Stars twinkle in his eyes as he tells the Earthfall cats that he means no harm and comes bearing gifts, revealing a small bounty of +3 mice, +1 big fish, +1 small fish, and +1 rabbit.

↪ Frustrated by her meager findings, Aether's lamb-like tail whips in frustration as she heads home, nearly threatening to tear up the dandelion held in her jaws as her teeth bare themselves in a snarl. As she continues, the medic comes to a slow halt as her nose twitches with the familiar scent of herbs flooding her senses. Limping home with Dune at her side, it's discovered that she developed a minor infectio. Aether is quick to soothe her worries by saying all she'll need a quick dose of -1 burdock root and she'll be right as rain.

that had gotten stuck in her silky lilac fur.

she was EXHAUSTED. posy had walked all day
only to find this old flower meadow.

URGH. besides, she was so hungry.
and was so bored and didn’t know what to do.

after all, when once wants to create a clan…

the tortoiseshell moped for a moment before sighing.
“oh, right. they aren’t here with me. this was my idea to go
found a ‘clan’, after all.” the molly sighed and flopped onto
the grass, laying on her paws.

“a clan…what did they say about one?

the zinnia up and stuck it in her fur, near the bottom
of her right ear.

the lavender meadows and the forest
live zinniaclan.

their hunting grounds are mainly the forest
and the meadows of various colourful flowers,
mostly lavender and wildflowers.

mice/voles, these are the most
common prey around, especially

birds, these are easy to find in the
forest. catching them, however,

harder to find and catch. they
are usually found in the meadows,
but sometimes can cross over to the
forest as well. [two servings]

finally, deer. it take a lot of
energy to kill one, usually needing
a whole hunting party of at least five
or more cats, but they are able to

they don’t have many threats from
predators since they live underground,
but they are more prone to death by
landslide as a result.

the predators they sometimes
encounter are foxes, and very rarely,
the odd badger or two.

zinniaclan believes in the different
flower deities, each one has a different
role to play in life.

— iriné, deity of the iris flower.
iris represents, faith, hope and wisdom.
this deity knows all and sees all, determining
cats’ fates before they are even born.
they see the futures to come and all the
possible major scenarios that may ruin
the clan.

but alas, they cannot help, merely send messages
in the form of omens to the medicine cats, hoping
that the omen will work and give zinniaclan a push
in the right direction.

— lià, deity of the lavender flower.
lavender means purity, calmness and serenity.
she is the deity who judges cats, and will
judge by their actions, which will result in
them going to the endless meadows or the
void.

she is usually a merciful deity,
and will let you go most of the time if you
have a good reason for your “bad” deeds.
however, if you abuse her kindness, she’s
going to let the monster out.

— meriem, deity of the lotus flower.
the lotus symbolises, strength, resilience and
rebirth. they are the deity of karma, and it is
said that they reincarnate those cats who are
worthy or deserve a second chance in life.

— xynthia, deity of the zinnia flower.
the zinnia represents friendship, love and
remembrance. it is said that she pairs
each cat together, and that most, if not
all cats have a soulmate waiting for them
later in life.

zinniaclan follows the default warriors
ranks.


this clan has few traditions, but
some minor ones are;

— each apprentice, when it is
time for them to receive their full
name, instead of a vigil, will go
into the meadows to find a flower
that has meaning to them.

they will then proceed to go back
and wear that flower in their fur from
now on.

zinniaclan was founded by posystar,
on the first day of spring, it is said.

therefore, every night on the first
day of spring, zinniaclan hosts a
new bloom celebration.
the clan will pick flowers and catch
prey, all the while having fun and
chatting with one another.

this ceremony was to “strengthen
the bonds” of clanmates, so they
could better work together.

rules.
zinniaclan is a rather relaxed clan,
and their rules are not as strict as
others.
this means that mating with any
cat is allowed, in clan or out of
clan, as long as one stays faithful
to their mate, unless they pass away.

otherwise, this clan sticks mostly to
the original warrior code, but they
do not follow it that closely, and more
so stay on the edges of it.

one rule that will always result in
a punishment is the murder of another
cat. if this happens, the alleged murderer
will have a “trial” to know whether the
murder was on accident or on purpose.

The sun lightly warms Smokemist's pelt as his claws dig away at the damp terrain. It isn't a very hot day, in fact it's still chilly considering it is leaf-fall, but the snow has melted due to the sun grasping at it and has made the dirt soft and easy to move around.

Frozenstar says it's a great day to finish off the den, and has gone to find foliage to cover the entrance that'd still be easy to pass through.

Smokemist is currently reworking the entrance to be more vertical like they had planned, similar to a cave's mouth, and Crowfall is deeper in the den digging out the Medicine Cat room for the sick and injured.

Taking a small moment to back up and huff out a breath, the grey tom assesses his work on the opening. Even with the soft ground, he tests his weight over top of the whole den and finds that it's stable enough to not sink into itself.

A thawing leaf drips onto his ear, and as he shakes of the cold water, Crowfall exits the den.

She quietly pads over and joins him in the weight test, and nothing changes. "Frozenstar should be back soon, I'm going to go out on the patrol she told me to once I was finished the Medicine den. Will you be okay to dig out the small prey area, dear?" She mews in a hushed way, as if trying not to wake a sleeping bear.

Smokemist purrs a little, "Yes. It won't take long." He responds, tail twitching a little and another water droplet pelts it. The she-cat's own tail brushes up against his side as a farewell as she stalks into the surrounding forest.

Crowfall silently creeps through the trees, eyes taking note of every little thing. The patrol is going rather uneventfully, until she crosses over the river.

In the distance there is three large Starclan Beasts. The elks cross the forest slowly, their massive bodies balancing on thin, long legs, not hindering their elegant stride.

She continues watching them in awe for a moment longer until she notices something, a cat. What appears to be a young adult tabby walks along-side them, their shorter legs having to take more steps to stay in the group.

Crowfall doesn't want to disturb the elk, but this is certainly odd. She stalks behind them a few paces away, until she blinks and they are gone into the trees. The missing presence startles her as she starts into a light trot to catch up to where they were.

Looking around as it begins to lightly snow again, she spots a long-haired tail disappearing behind a tree in the distance. She chases after it, ensuring her paws don't alert the stranger by avoiding branches that littered the grass. Peering around the tree they had disappeared behind, she spots them looking around, but the Starclan Beasts are no where to be found.

"Hey." She pipes up, the young cat whips around to face her, clearly on edge. The stranger doesn't answer, instead subtly looking for some kind of escape route or an excuse for whatever the deputy might ask them.

"What are you doing in Lichenclan territory?" Crowfall attempts to keep her tone light and non-threatening, considering the deja-vu that this interaction was giving her, a certain grey tom settling in her mind.

The cat's tail lashes once as they avoid eye contact. "I was lead here. By the elk." Their eyes were focused but their body language told her that they weren't confident that she'd believe them. After a moment of silence, Crowfall turns and flicks her tail to the stranger. "Come, walk with me."
