Spider Rarity Guide
- This guide lists the rarest spiders on the site, and provides some information about their rarity history. The spider lines were originally created by the artist Malk. They are not regularly released pets, but in the past a number of them were adoptable. This guide only includes the rarest of spiders, there are others on the site who are lower in rarity. To see all spiders on the website, navigate to the Archives and select "Spider" from the species dropdown list.
The guide does not define the trading values of the spiders, only their rarity information. It is important to note that this guide groups pets based on their rarity and rarity history, but does not list pets in any particular order within those groups. If you find a VR+ spider missing from this list, or any additional rarity information not listed, please post on the thread so it can be updated.
Please don't copy the rarity bars image sources as they are privately hosted. You are welcome to save and re-upload them yourself though. Thank you!

OMGSR Spiders

Bumblebee/Racecar Spider (June 2009)

Rarity Information
2010: Spider went from R to VR (Feb)
2023: Spider went from VR to OMGSR
This is currently the rarest spider on the website.
It went VR 2 years before any other spider, so it has always been known as the rarest.
The 2023 rarity update made this pet the very first OMGSR spider.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
High Extremely Rare Spiders

Malkavian Spider (Feb 2010)

Rarity Information
2012: Spider went from R to VR (Jan)
2023: Spider went from VR to ER
This is likely the second rarest spider on the site.
It is one of only 2 spiders to become Extremely Rare during the 2023 rarity update.
Its rarity history sets it apart from the other spider because this one went VR many years earlier.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Low Extremely Rare Spiders

Red-kneed Tarantula (May 2009)

Rarity Information
2019: Spider went from R to VR (Jan)
2023: Spider went from VR to ER
This is one of only 2 spiders to go Extremely Rare in the 2023 rarity update.
It is surprising because it went VR in 2019 alongside all of the spiders listed under High Very Rare.
It is currently unknown if it is much rarer, or if they are all hovering on the cusp of the rarity barrier instead.
If they do change rarity over the next year, these tiers may need to be merged together.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
High Very Rare Spiders

Grey Spider (Apr 2009)
Wasp Spider (Jun 2009)
Ladybug/Red Spider (Jul 2009)
Blue/Yellow Star Spider (Aug 2009)
Purple/Green Star Spider (Aug 2009)

Rarity Information
2011: Spiders went from UC to R
2019: Spiders went from R to VR (Jan)
2023: Spiders remain VR
These spiders have all been Very Rare since 2019.
The 2023 rarity update did not change them, but it did bump up previously Rare spiders into VR.
For this reason, these long-term VR spiders are likely rarer than the newer ones listed below.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Medium Very Rare Spiders

Corset/DNA Spider (Oct 2009)
Eyes/Hellsing Spider (Halloween 2009)
Green Arrow Spider (Nov 2009)

Black/Emperor Scorpion (Halloween 2013)
Brown/Desert Scorpion (Halloween 2013)

Rarity Information
2012: Corset & Eyes Spiders went from UC to R (Nov)
2013: Green Arrow & Scorpions went from UC to R (May)
2023: Spiders went from R to VR
These spiders were Rare for a long time.
The 2023 rarity update has made them Very Rare.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Low Very Rare Spiders

Valentine '10/Red Heart Pink Spider (VDay 2010)

Rarity Information
2019: Spider went from UC to Rare (Jan)
2023: Spider went from R to VR
This spider was Uncommon for a long time.
Because it turned rare so many years after all of the other VR spiders, it is unlikely to be as rare as them.
It is interesting to note that Aztec Spider (Feb 2010) went Rare at the same time as this spider, but not VR.
It is unknown if Aztec Spider will move up to VR and sit alongside this one in the future or not.
