CS OMGSR Pet Popularity Poll [RESULTS POSTED!]

I want to see people's weird opinions!

1) I can't believe the Galaxy PPS is lower than the zonkey and joker which both seemed so solidly, unanimously popular. Like, it's still up there as one of the most loved but wasn't quite the top. It's by far my favorite OMGSR.
2) I love the dogtag / nontag line WAY more than the jewel and moonswirl lines! I was so surprised to see people rank the dogtag lower!
3) The UR Kirin was surprisingly high? Even though I don't see that many people trading for it I feel like. That's one of my least favorites personally.
4) It looks like the Wolf PPS is one of the top OMGSR PPS-s; I think it's so plain, nothing flashy, haha. I like the boar and even the dice PPS + buckskin better.

So so wild. I want to hear what surprised everyone^ I agree about the zebras!

I actually agree with all of this, except I’m one of the people who is kind of meh on the the galaxy PPS. It’s cute, but not one of my favorites, and with a whole event full of space pets, I feel like it doesn’t stand out to me.

But on every other point, I agree with pretty much everything! Wolf PPS is fine, but the PPS boar has always been one of my favorites! And seeing the kirin so high was definitely a bit surprising to me as well. Also, dogtag/non tag are some of my ultimate dreamies, well above the sun jewel!

So I was a bit confused by the poll options. At first I rated the pets on how much I liked the design and look of the pets. I went back because that is not how I would rate it based on what I would personally keep in my own collection. So for me, personally, I voted 1 for the pets I wouldn't keep in my collection unless I had every other pet and needed them to complete the collection. 2-4 are pets I would be willing to trade if I have only 1 of them to get other pets I like more (even if I have multiple of the pet I am trading for). 5 are the pets that i wouldnt mind keeping but are available to trade for other pets. 6-7 are pets that I would like to keep but for the right pet that I don't have or over pay, I would be willing to trade. 8-9 are pets in my personal collection and would be very hard pressed to trade unless it was a pet I desperately wanted AND it was over pay. 10 are for the pets that I just would not trade out of my collection, unless massive overpay and even then I'm not 100% sure I would trade.

I found this way might be more accurate then just on how I thought a pet looked because even tho I liked some of the designs more, I just wouldn't keep them in my collection as much as others.

Yup this is also a perfectly valid way to vote! I wanted to keep it somewhat broad because the main point is to gather data on people's personal preferences and opinions about pets, not data about what pets you would use as trading fodder. If the poll was specifically asking about which pets you would trade the most, then the higher ranking pets would likely be the ones in slightly above average popularity. Popular enough that people like it, but not so popular that you really really want to keep it. I also tried to frame it in a way that current statements about what pets are in demand or not wouldn't influence the way people vote, since this data is supposed to be on personal preference. I hope it makes sense why I did it this way!

The above was exactly how I viewed it. I didn’t take trading into account and went by a snap judgement of how much a pet appealed to me overall. I also tried to keep an open mind, and come at each pet with fresh eyes, disregarding what I knew about which pets were more of less popular. I also tried not overthink it or say, “well, I rated this pet a 7, but I like this pet more, so it has to be an 8 or above.” I just went with whatever felt right in the moment.

Insight on my answers:

-all of my answers were based on how much I like the designs, with the species/lineart having some to do with it as well. I don't like the Tess Horse lineart for example so all of those I put lower, the highest was UR Purple Tess Horse at 4/10 because I like design, just not on that lineart. I also had some unpopular opinions based on this as well, like putting UR Tiger at like, 6/10 I think. I just like some other pets' designs better.
-regarding the rats: the highest I remember putting any of them at is 5/10; I do like the designs of many of the rats, but I wouldn't trade for them actively nor would I be dead set on keeping them if I did have them, and that's why I didn't rank them higher. If I happen to get one I like in a trade or as a gift/the pound, then cool, but I'm not allocating my own funds to get any of them nor will I rush to put it in an NFT group. My faves are the panda rats, heart rats, and tiger rat, if anyone wanted to know.

this was really fun to take the time and go through! demand has always been an iffy subject for me, so seeing even a small sample of how other users personally view rarer pets is pretty neat :3

-Nick Unicorn placement for me was 100% biased. I put 10/10 simply because I own it. If I didn't I would've put it lower no doubt, but because I happened to get it for free on Dec. 18th and I DIDN'T have to trade for it, I grew to really like him so do with that info what you will. I wonder if anyone else may have put a pet generally considered "unpopular" higher just because they have one as well.

I kinda did that for the UR Butterfly Wolf. I spent so much time and money collecting all butterfly wolves and was so excited when I finally got the UR! I do love the design and the colors but I think without that background I would have maybe put it at a 7 or 8

5 is neutral. No strong feelings, don't really care.
6-7 is kind of cute but probably wouldn't seek it out.
8-9 is has pieces of my soul
10 is would die for it

I escalate quickly
Also zebras have always been at 10 for me and it's always baffled me people think they are lower
They are the only super rare pet you always have a chance at getting! And they're zebras! They've always been so exciting to me.
I don't have strong feelings for most dogs, rats, or bunnies, so most of my answers were just 5 across the board.

I sadly can't load all the results, so I hope when the poll is over they're all revealed! Instead of just what is ranked best / least. I'm very curious.

Yes that does make sense. I was thinking about what I would personally keep in my permanent collection vs what I really didnt care if I kept. I do understand not wanting to influence the pole by the way players trade especially what they would want to use to trade for other pets. I do think that trading does have an effect on popularity tho, like players wanting to keep certain pets in their permanent collection.

The change between the 2 rating I did was only 1 or 2 lower or higher. Like the light heart rat went from a 6 to a 5 and the tribal dogs went from a 6 to a 8 (as I don't care for the tribal designs but want them in my collection).

I’m with you on the zebras! I love them so much!! Currently trying to collect them too so I like them even more hehe
