Issue Bumping Threads & Forum Posting

Hi! I'm pretty sure this is a bug, so I hope this is the correct forum!

Sometimes when I go to bump my thread, instead of my post being submitted, it takes me to the bottom of my thread page w/out taking me to the message submitted screen. Frequency of about 50% for my own threads, and has happened once or twice when responding to another user's thread, resulting in the reply being lost. Edit to add: I had this issue once while trying to post this thread, and fortunately I had copied the text first - but forgot to add it when re submitting haha!

Trade Thread for reference - any unquoted posts means I came across this issue. I can get around this by using "quick reply" but not "post reply". Quoting a reply itself seems to get around this too, but I've only tested it once. Refreshing doesn't fix it, restarting my browser doesn't fix it, nor does opening a new tab.

I use Chrome on Windows 10, iPhone, and iPad and encounter this at the same frequency across all devices. I'm wondering if there's a coding issue in my post that's causing it, the length of my thread, my browser, spam prevention, or if there's something else I'm missing? At first it happened about 1/10 times but recently it's increased to 50% of the time.

I've asked in the CS discord and others seem to have this issue across multiple browsers. One user reported this issue for any post they tried to make.

This is a common thing that happens when you click too quickly when trying to quote and post without adding anything else to the post. I suggest just waiting a moment after clicking "quote" before submitting. Or another thing I do is click into the post just before hitting submit, as if I was going to type something.

If this happens when you're not clicking rapidly, that is probably a bug that staff could look into more :)

It happens less frequently when I wait to post, but still happens - for example when writing out this thread I encountered the issue despite it taking me 10-15 minutes to type out. It took me back to the help forum page instead of back to the thread - because well, there wasn’t a thread to take me to. In hindsight, it looks like it takes you to the page last visited versus the last thread viewed.

I will say the 50% frequency is only on pc and does seem to be reduced almost entirely on mobile by waiting at least 30 seconds, but still happens sometimes, even if I edit the field. I’ll try updating my browser, clearing cache etc (and maybe I’ll try firefox bc I’ve been meaning to switch anyway) in case it’s a client side issue.

I’ll edit this post if I can pin it down some more. Thanks for responding ^^
