Doin good!! I went and saw ROTB with my father, and honestly, I think I dig it more than the other Transformers films! I think it was a fun movie, though I always wish I could get more of a connection to the humans ^^ I've always had trouble connecting to the human characters in all TF media
Ofc I'm also looking forward to the new batch of EarthSpark episodes coming out in like 2 weeks!! I'm really really hoping it'll pull me in more with the story n characters with this new batch of episodes
So a question about ES for those who have watched it: What do y'all think about the animation specifically during big action scenes or just 100% fight scenes?
The two links in this paragraph will contain fight spoilers for episode 9, BUT this general paragraph is spoiler-free because I really do want to talk about it!!
I've seen some storyboards for this show and sometimes I wish it was just a tad more like those storyboards :" D It doesn't have to be in 2D like them, that's not what I mean (
that would be cool though lots of work). The thing I really wanna see more of is the 'OOMF!!' of action scenes in EarthSpark!
What I mean is, it feels like the 3D animation isn't
quite matching the absolute weight of these hits or falls that happen during a lot of these big fight scenes. I think two good examples are of these storyboards by Kevin Molina-Ortiz (
1) (
2) from the 9th episode! In these boards, I can feel the anticipation and momentum of characters colliding or objects rolling around in the background compared to the final 3D animation
Besides my one lil qualm with that aspect, I think the show's animation style is nice! I like how smooth everything appears and it is very pretty to look at : D Would just like to see more 'WOAH' in the fight scenes <3
I've only ever talked about this with friends, so I'm curious about others' opinions on the action :]
