I am pleasantly surprised to see that most of my (still active) unlimited hoards have not shifted as much in rarity as I would have expected. These fellas from October 2012 were the ones I was most concerned about, just because they were oldest, but the blue jumped from uncommon to very uncommon and the pink stayed the same. Hopefully I'll be able to hit my eventual goal of 1000 without too much issue ^^;
even though it has already taken me 10 years to get to under 700, but that's not important lol

Im very split with some of my hoards haha!
I dont hoard rare+ pets bc Its too hard for me lol so I had a couple of my hoards turn rare or have rare members in them so im gonna stop hoarding those which is a little sad BUT! Ill get some juicy rare trade fodder stuff from those.
I am excited to see some rare pets drop down to uncommon tho so I can start hoarding those! (Looking at you ghost fox and dog from 2021 Halloween LOL)

well I managed to make it to 7/10 and 8/10 for the counterfeit jokers and opossum rats respectively before they went rare and people are somehow deciding this rarity change means they're worth 2010 rares. that's not hyperbole, btw, that's what they're voting on the "this is how trading will work now" thread with this 5 year rule people are trying to push through. 🙃

I have no energy or motivation to trade for basically anything anymore after this change, it's too depressing. advent list went omgsr so obviously a single rat is worth the same as my zonkey dontchaknow.

Finished another of my many hoards! This one took way longer than expected but these monocle hammies were just too cute not to name. I wanted to give them ALL funny names but it became way too overwhelming LOL

And yea I’m curious how this rarity change will effect the rerelease December 18 pets will it still just be rare plus or will it be extremely rare and up now ?

Hhhm, yeah, several of mine have these new categories of rarity too. Some of them are...fine, I guess, but then like, this fox is now a VR;

It was only a rare before. And I still need 8 of them.

On the other hand, the mirco-sorting part of my brain really likes having a more clear way to determine the value of them. 11 rarities is a little much, but it paints a better picture for me of how easy it'll be to get them. Some uncommons were always just harder to get then others, ya'know? Now we know why. It is going to make trading interesting, but I guess i'll play it 1:1 for now until we all collectively figure out the new rarity math.

The 18th might be...tricky. Maybe. Because what we've gone and done is pretty much refined the system; we know almost exactly how common these pets *really* are now. Like I said above, some uncommons and the like were always harder to find than others. Personally, I can see there being three boxes; Very/Extremely uncommon, Extremely uncommon/Rare, and then perhaps Rare+? Regular Uncommons wont hold the same weight they used to, but everything Extremely uncommon and up is now more susceptible to change if to much gets released on the 18th. I suspect come January the preliminary rarities will have changed a fir bit.


In any case, i'm going to have to sort of re-figure some of my rarity caps on my species hoards now, because like with the above fox, a few of the oldest ones have gone up and may or may not be worth trying to complete. Or maybe I rush to complete them now. Idk I wish I had gotten them done before this happened, but thats what I get for being a lurker all month.

I hoard these 2013 Valentines Lions! I hadn’t actually thought about the negatives that the update will have on this hoard, so it’s interesting to see those opinions! The way I see it is that the new extremely uncommon label actually benefits my hoard in particular, since these are older pets. Even though they were formerly uncommon, I already knew that these were on the higher end of the scale because they’re simply really hard to find and those who had them for trade were more tentative about trading them because of them being older uncommons and not knowing their exact worth. So for me personally, this new update means that people know their actual worth, which means I can send fairer trades for them and the people on the other end of those trades can feel more confident in their trades, that they are getting a fair deal for this pet. The only reason I can see myself hoping they become rare is because it would make the colour of the rarity bar match their eyes haha <3

On an unrelated note, I want to take more time to make my hoard look nice - which means decorating them with items! What items do you think would match their aesthetics? :0

I can agree with the trades! Since the update some of the pets that I had trouble with are easier to get now ^^ I haven't made this much progress in my hoards in MONTHS!
So this makes me extremely happy ^^
