IIRC aren't rarities determined by how many of a given pet exist on the site? In that case, the new system is less broken than the old one - The List was known for being a bit wonky in terms of values due to popularity being a factor, and it led to a ridiculous amount of inflation in the trading scene, which I even encountered while trading for
the least popular rats I get where you're coming from and I respect your opinion, but I don't think this will be bad enough for them to change the system again - if anything, this will make it easier for players who didn't join before 2012 to get things they want, and that will make the playerbase more active, which is good for the longevity of the site as a whole
If this reduces the inflation issue, then they're doing it right
