Passing the gooles with a questioning glance, you and Nike look at the map again. Is it upside-down? No it has to be around here somewhere... You and the rest of the goobies walk around the forest and around the rivers. "Hey everyone! I'm sure that I grabbed the right map so the entrance to the cave system should be just across that river! I really want to try and bring some new artifacts back to the museum so we really have to make sure not to break or touch anything that looks valuable without me there please!" Nike looks at everyone with a hopeful smile.

The cave was right there hidden by some trees and vines! It looks like you guys passed by it once or twice without even realizing it. With your backpack and gear in hand, you start to prepare to descend into the caves preparing to find some treasure lost to time...

Welcome to The Ancient Ruins !! We are so glad to have you here with us this event !!

There will be a new prompt to follow every single day, and you can decide how you want to answer them! By drawing your goobies, drawing Nike or Sequoia, drawing the area they go, writing a poem, writing how your goobie reacts, or whatever you would like to do! You have no limit! <3

There is no art or writing minimum! We will judge based on effort.

+ Any sketch or under 100 words will earn you 1 gooinie
+ A coloured headshot or 200 words will earn you 2 gooinies
+ Anything above that will earn you 3-5 gooinies based on effort!

+ Judges favourite will earn you +5 extra gooinies from what you have already earned that day

“Alright everyone! Is everyone ready? We’re going to make sure we have all of the gear we need! Please feel free to ask me if any of you are wondering if you have enough stuff. I’ve been studying this sort of thing for a while and have gone down in caves with fellow historians so I know a thing or two! I cannot wait to go on this adventure with you all!” Everyone looks around at Nike with excitement.

Let’s double check! You think to yourself. Hmmm… do I have enough snacks or batteries for my flashlights…? You look around at other people and try to think about what you might need.



You’re preparing to descend the cave system! What do you bring? Do you goof off and distract others? How are you feeling?

As Cinder prepares to travel down into the depths, he collects his essentials; his archaeology kit, his flashlight with extra batteries, and rations for the trip down into the cave system. His backpack is quiet heavy with all of his tools, and despite the darkness of the caverns before him he feels little apprehension. In fact, quite the opposite- he's excited to explore this cave system, because all sorts of new and amazing discoveries can be made! He double and triple checks his backpack to be sure he's packed everything he needs for the expedition- the last thing any goob would want is to be trapped in a dark place without a working flashlight or any snacks to eat, after all! He even packed his leather-bound notebook for any observations, its pages yellowed with the passage of time and crammed edge to edge with small sketches and scrawling cursive. With a deep breath, he closes his backpack and lifts it up carefully, well-prepared for his adventure.

Willie sighed and adjusted its backpack for the final time. It still wasn't quite used to existence on a mortal plane, but it must admit, this one had so much to offer. Like this cave, and the treasure it's rumored to sequester away.

It checked the watch face its bracelet had for the time. 10:30 am. It still had time to visit all the booths in place of Mayhem after this, thank Gob. Mayhem was off adventuring with xes friends and had no time to do the smaller things like this, so xe enlisted Willie to do some stuff for xem. Twas a nice arrangement, as Willie typically had little chance to explore the outside world.

It took its first step into the cave and waited with bated breath what nature would bring down upon its head.

duet and raindrops excitedly introduced themselves to each other, feeling immediately connected due to their small sizes. duet, the tinier of the two, was experienced in exploring places that felt massive to him, being a forager and botanist, after all. in his, appropriately small, bag, he had a magnifying glass, several cave identification books, and a ladder constructed with the sturdiest of sticks. all of which were duet-sized, and perfect for the diab to use to his advantage. alongside that, he also brought a headlamp to avoid the risk of losing the rest of the group (or them losing him).

raindrops, on the other hand, was a bit bigger than their new friend. though, they still had similar items as duet, like many handbooks and identification tools. they also had some desserts that they had brought from home and a polaroid camera to take photos of things they find!

both goobies were eager to share their belongings with each other as much as possible, and decided to stick together throughout their adventures. of course, they were a bit nervous due to the size of everything compared to them, but the pair were excited to explore and expedition in their own unique way. Cocoa looked at the rest of the crew, sighing out. "So we're really doing this huh?" she asked them, tugging at the leather strap of her adventuring satchel. Meyer gace a comforting par to Cocoa's shoulder, offering an encouraging smile.

"It's the least we can do for him, Barry's creations have nearly doubled what the shop brings in!" Cocoa puffed out a long suffering sigh of agreement, before turning to look at Barry.

"Why do you want to do this anyways?" she asked, genuinely curious. "Far as I know rocks ain't edible!" Barry could not help but chuckle, as he checked to make sure his thick-soled boots were on tight, and that his hat complete with light was working and not going anywhere!

"They're not!" he reassured. "Well maybe salt crystals but what we're looking for is far more awesome: mushrooms!"

"Mush... rooms?!? Why would you want to find fungus?" Jax asked, as she ensured the cooler filled with drinks and snacks was secure.

"Because they add a savory level that is out of this world to dishes! And... I want to see what kind of mushrooms dwell in places no goobie has been to in ages! Maybe we can discover a taste that is brand new and amazing! Something to really show off to the world of goobies!" He spoke with a passion and enthusiasm, that to the sharp eyed around them would notice made Meyer smile fondly.

"Well what are we waiting for?" she asked then, before gesturing to the others. Despite being so much shorter, it was clear she was just as excited as Barry. Or maybe... she was excited because he was. "Let's help Barry track down some mushrooms down there!"

Yurei considered herself to be something of a history buff, so when she had seen flyers posted everywhere about an adventure to find ancient artifacts, it was an opportunity that she couldn't pass up. While every goobie who wasn't living under a rock knew the story of the creation of the great gob and gobbess, no one really knew what happened in the time leading up to the modern day. Yurei could only assume that there were ancient civilizations, but their advancement or even what they looked like, were completely unknown. While she supposed that someone could have asked the gobbess, Yurei knew that she was much too self-absorbed to answer any question that wasn't directly about her, and so they were stuck down here, digging in the dirt for pieces of a lost history.

In her bag, Yurei carried only the essentials; a water bottle with plenty of water, some high-nutrition, low-weight foods, first aid kits, lights, and tools for digging at the rock and uncovering objects, should it be required. Yurei knew that she wasn't a particularly strong goobie, and so she would leave the heavy-lifting to the ones who were able to carry more. She wasn't afraid to ask for anything if she needed it.

Prompt; Lily was the type of goobie to always try to be over prepared for any situation. Now was no different; she had filled her backpack with everything she thought she could possibly need during this adventure. Water bottles, snacks, two flashlights and plenty of spare batteries, all the other gear Nike had instructed them to bring, a jacket in case it got cold, a first aid kit just in case... But along with everything necessary, she had also brought along her sketchpad and some colored pencils. Lily was excited to make sketches of all the cool stuff the group would find on this adventure! After all, surely they would find lots of unique rocks, plants, and even some of those artifacts Nike mentioned. Lily wanted to make sure she drew pictures of them all to show to her sibling, Hope, and her best friend, Shell, when she got back from the expedition. Sure, she could probably just describe them, but it would be more fun if they could actually see what she saw, even in drawing form rather than in person.
After double checking she had everything, Lily made sure her hiking boots were tied securely and then waited eagerly, yet patiently, for the adventure to start. While waiting, she glanced around at her surroundings, taking in every detail. She wanted to make the most of every moment here!
