Capping it at 10 would be ideal.

Add colours, but please don't change them :') adjusting to more rarities is difficult enough in comparison to adjusting to more rarities and new colours, some might understand

i second this! part of cs's charm is in its unique rarity naming system, however, if the admins choose the option of adding four new rarity categories, names such as "extremely common" versus "very common" seem to feel redundant. if we were able to give some of these rarities different, more varying names (such as "mythical" and "legendary" that you suggested instead of the current "very rare" and "extremely rare" titles,) it might make the new interface more accessible, especially for those that struggle with dyslexia or other disabilities that make it hard to process written information. i personally struggle with this sort of thing, and the possibility of the new rarities having very similar names as well as very similar colors to indicate the difference between them scares me somewhat, as i could see myself making mistakes when it comes to valuing or trading with my pets.
this is because the phrases "very common," "extremely common," "very uncommon," and "extremely uncommon" all visually look very similar to each other. when discussing rarities, if these were the names written out i would have a very difficult time following along with the discussion.

all in all, i think that the idea of adding new rarities to account for the amount of pets accumulated in these past years, as well as the intricacies of the trading system, is a great idea and will make for a great addition to this site. but, in order to do this well and in a way that ensures the maximum accessibility for all ages and all types of people, the names given to different rarities should be less confusing than they currently are. otherwise, what could have been a wonderful opportunity to make the pet trading system easier to understand and fully grasp for new users may turn out to be something that confuses them even further.
if, instead of elongating the current rarity names to account for the new labels we could simple devise new names to refer to them as, i think that any possible confusion could be dealt with before existing in the first place. :3

Nobody did say to add omg to all the titles, but I thought it was funny. I also couldn't remember all of the other choices, so I added omgoodness repeatedly to have a third choice for the mock poll.

i understand what's confusing in "the confusing part", but i'd totally support this naming convention. i'm afraid the proposed system will be confusing as only "common" group has a reversed naming convention. "extremely common" may sound somehow more exciting than just normal "common"... i'd stick to low/mid/high having in mind that it's a shortening for something like "low shelf common" or "low class common".

i also really hope that someone will quickly make some guide about how to count new values of pets or trading bunch of uncommons for a rare will become impossible...

While I like the verbal gradation in itself, looking at the whole scale I do think this will lead to a lot of confusion, since it can be understood both ways. In my opinion, that not only makes it useless for categorization, but will create more problems.

Okay this is exactly the problem OP mentioned but like all the logic in my body says that a low common is less common than high common (aka this order EC - HC - MC - LC ...).

That's to say I'm not on favour of the low - high naming.

Actually I quite like the mythical etc renaming idea, tho I don't have a problem with the originally proposed naming either.

EDIT: on second thought maybe it would be clearer to name them LOW VALUE COMMON and HIGH VALUE COMMON, but that makes the names kind of long (anyway that's my idea

Given the way the results look for the current poll adding four new rarities will be likely go ahead. I agree another poll just with the most suggested name ideas, and maybe one for colours/bar notches/stars although that seems to be less debated here.
