I haven't posted in this thread the last few days so this won't be related to a current topic probably, but I remember some people were suggesting that CS bring back/start making real-life merchandise such as stickers (which they did in the past) and plushies (which they did not). I was going back in the news updates to try to find another thing brought up, which was an update however long ago from Tess or Nick about them kind of stepping back from the site (which I and others also seemingly remembered) and could not find it, but I did find this news post relating to CS merchandise.

Apparently, there was a plan in the works to create and sell Sunback plushies that I guess was discarded, since they never appeared in the "CS Mall" and there was no further mention of it. What a bummer! (Edit to add: The CS Mall did reopen/restock stickers twice more after this update, then no more) It was cool to take a little trip down memory lane, though!

I also noticed that there has been such a small amount of news updates the last 2-3 years compared to years prior.
lights off

I've been here since 2009 and the amount of new content has dwindled so much. It feels like this site is ran by a ghost most the time.
It's like they admins think that if they just pump out new designs and events that that's all it takes for this place to work.

In the early days I made a ton of friends in a topic called the fursona zoo but apparently it wasn't really accepted by admins and mods to just chat in forums. It had to stay "on-topic" 100% of the time which just discouraged everyone to even comment anymore. They eventually locked/banned the whole topic and we had to make our own forum just to talk still. Of course it fizzled out though.
It's near impossible to meet and make new friends on this website (naturally).
Does CS even have a official discord?

The amount of users online used to be triple what it usually is now and its just saddening.
I like the pets don't get me wrong but the amount of times I've left and came back over the YEARS I stopped being super active here to find everything is the exact same. I want to be active here again but honestly the site just feels kind of dead now. A husk of what it once was.

A lot of staff are even members of the unofficial discord lol. Chat rooms are on the list of declined suggestions due to them being impossible to moderate, but admittedly I think that's probably a very old declined suggestion. Discord Servers are a lot easier to moderate and even auto-moderate now a days so I definitely think that it should at least be reconsidered.

i havent read thru every single reply, but ive kept up with this thread since the start. as far as ive seen, the only response has been mods saying "we have no control over this, its up to tess and nick"
which is also kinda scary in a way. the entire site's future based on two people? i feel like mods should have more of a final say, yknow?

i agree 100% im thinking about quitting if nothing changes, they dont seem to care enough imo and we cant do anything about it other than keep threads like this uo in hopes they work smth out. i know im only one player and losing me isnt a loss but how many more ppl have to quit for them to care enough. trying to remain positive is hard when it all falls on 2 ppl who wont talk

yeah. genuinely have been considering just. leaving. this thread blew up overnight and is still popular. and yet we havent had hardly ANY announcements from the admins.
as someone who has played since waaaay back in 2013, i dont think they actually care anymore.

it's genuinely pretty concerning to me that we haven't heard anything from higher-ups about this? this thread was absolutely massive the first day it was up, and people are continuing to stand by everything that was said. the complete lack of any input from tess or nick has me so genuinely disappointed. i feel like a "hey, we'll respond soon, thank you for your conversations" would be more than adequate right now- i understand that the sheer size and intensity of this thread must be overwhelming. but to hear nothing?

i don't know... i didn't have much hope in things changing before, but seeing this being completely ignored by those in charge is incredibly discouraging. when numerous people have voiced their concerns about you not caring for a site you own and operate... wouldn't you say something? where are tess and nick? genuinely, does anyone know if they even check the site anymore?

This. I believe nick checks every once in a while but it is really REALLY concerning that they’ve said absolutely NOTHING. I get that they have their own lives but holy crap. If you don’t care about the site and don’t want to keep up with it, sell the site.

I definitely agree! Technology has improved a TON, and especially since that is most likely an old declined suggestion, discord may haven’t even been around when that was suggested.

i cant be bothered to post here anymore because i literally see no change happening in the future whatsoever. i give up aha all of the ideas here are fantastic and i am genuinely so sorry we likely won’t ever see this site flourish the way it should. really hope we get some input from tess or nick, we deserve it. so long folks!
