You can still get those as it's basically a swap between tokens (beads for fishes). It's only the beads and bracelets we can't get more of. ^^

does anyone know what species lineart the giraffe and platypus fall under? I'm trying to sort out the event pets now and cannot for the life of me figure out which they are. the archive doesn't sort them as "other species" so it has to be one of the current species.

The giraffe is horse lineart and platy is guinea pig lineart.
