yeah im not sure why we're having this discussion again when it has already been said it's not going to happen? there is always a chance those inactive users will come back. plus, knowing that stuff never gets deleted is one of the charms i feel to CS. it makes CS a more relaxed site that you can play or not play whenever you please. it makes me def feel more comfortable knowing i can take a break or go inactive whenever life gets too busy. and as mentioned before, what if they don't have access to their old emails anymore ? they have no way to know their account is being deleted.

these users being inactive doesn't make us entitled to their pets either. yeah, it's a shame they're sitting on an inactive account, but that changes nothing for us. they're not affecting rarity, it's as if they don't exist. we lose nothing by leaving them alone. it wouldn't really change anything anyways since the trading economy is still going to be messed up. i really think THAT should be our priority as users because adding more rare pets to the mix is just a bandaid. it's not a long term solution

Businesses change, never say never, I don't think it's fair to slap down a harmless discussion on the basis that it probably won't happen, according to a post not everybody has seen.

I was thinking about the staff/GH litters. That really is a personal gift from the staff and GHs to the members. There are hints and lots of interactions between staff and members to find out who made which outcome.
Something like that might make the members feel more involved and more fun witht he staff and feel less intimidated by shiny names. Perhaps there could be more litters with more artists and community discussing who made it, what it is based on etc. Or let the community give some ideas, like a theme (a novel, movie, song etc) or colorschemes for a litter. I know there are thread for it, but make it bigger and really communicate withit.

Example: discuss the theme. Artists agree to work out a festive theme.
Next is the litter. The festive litter is released, people discuss what the theme is. Could be a birthday, wedding, disco etc. The artist could drop soms hints or make the litter with other artist.
Looking for CATS!

Exactly. We’ve had this discussion once before, and the staff already said they weren’t going to delete inactive accounts on another thread.

The only way to add to the cs economy is by adding new LIST VALUE pets to monthly drops. Extra rerelease days would drop the values of current pets significantly. I feel that that idea keeps being denied/ignored because the backlash would suck to deal with.

They need to stop being so light-headed with the free monthly releases and allow for new members to have a chance of adopting NEW VR/omgsr pets. This would make trading between newer and older members a lot more frequent and shake up the market. Example pets released like this before: the wwa, the rbm, may lioness, joker dog, June lioness, August pps, malk dragons, zebras, etc.

(As a reminder: I am absolutely not talking about the random measley rares we have seen pop up in recent litters. Im talking list-value releases.)

This whole argument feels like the inflation argument of real life. CS needs to "pay" it's members more, ultimately. They pay us with valueless monthly adopts that are all very common->uncommon and you guys are mad that you can't afford lists -- which is entirely valid!!! It costs CS no money and no effort to skew drop numbers. Drop some value into new accounts, man.

Lanayru wrote:If account bloat genuinely became an issue I could get behind deleting accounts with no activity that haven't been logged on in a specific time (no posts, no pets adopted etc). No support for anything else involving deletion though - I'm one of the people who went fully inactive for several years and would've been totally gutted if my whole account was gone when I decided to come back. It's also comforting for me to know that I could take a break, even a longer one, while knowing my pets and items are safe for if/when I decide to return to the site later on.

totally agree with this, i was gone for 7+ years and would've been devastated to find my pets had been "redistributed" due to my absence. a little confused as to why we're still having this discussion when the suggestion directory literally says this has been declined /nm

I loathe posting on forums aside from trading for anxiety reasons, but I would like to throw out that I also am displeased with the idea of closing or wiping inactive accounts.
Given how horrible the last couple years have been, there's probably a real chance some inactive accounts are users who have passed. I know if my friend ever passes, if his account were to be gutted, regardless of how often he used it, *I* would be gutted. That's something that should be taken into consideration, especially if they really don't play into the rarity system on accounts like that.
(I can see more people posting about this saying staff already confirmed they won't be doing this, to which I say, good! We might feel similarly on that matter.)

I think the only solutions are to either rerelease pets on some sort of more regular interval or as rewards for contests or other things, or maybe to create like. A collection checklist where you can check off pets that have come through your account. Then, you'll have collected it, so if it's a particular rare pet, unless you genuinely like that pet you might feel more incentive to trade it off to someone else who hasn't owned it yet.
There are probably problems with that I haven't thought of, but it's been on my mind as I lurk, so I figured I might as well throw it out there.

Also, I think someone mentioned before some sort of arcade system with some of the flash games that have come out in recent years? I actually quite like that idea. Maybe you can play them just baseline whenever you want, or maybe a token system could be implemented *wherein entering a token enables you to win a prize*; specifically, I was thinking items, but I'd dig lower rarity pets being in circulation for something like that. I don't think I'd support any rare pets coming through something like that though, on previously mentioned grounds of the RNG involved. It might be a problem even if the currency for them was meant to be free, idk, I'm not a game/web designer

I really wish the UR pets were like the Zebras, in that there was a tinnnnyy chance to adopt one in the monthly litters. Like, the UR dogs pop up in the puppies, the cats with cats, fruit with "other", etc etc

I'd love to see them do this, but they never will.

CS has always been very very stingy about allowing for more re-releases of older pets. Stuff like the August PPS and June Lioness was YEARS ago at this point, that it's completely disheartening and why I don't think adopting monthly pets has any value outside of 'completion'. They won't help users get anywhere in the current trading economy.

Sure, events often give rares with token pets, but those also pretty much won't have any value for several years, if ever. The economy needs some kind of new lease on life or the inflation is going to continue to drive users away and further increase the issues.
