I know that merch is INCREDIBLYT expensive to manufacture, stock, and store, but I do hope that they consider doing pre-orders. Not necessarily of limited-time merch, but perhaps open the shop every 3-4 months for a month or so to collect orders, then order based on the items purchased? Especially for items like Plushies- I was a wee lil baby back in 2012 when they originally had merch and went to Anthrocon, and I would have eaten somebody's mother for that sunback plushie!
Even something like a redbubble shop so i could have t-shirts and stickers ;;

Ngl, I'd only really be interested in plushies, which are the hardest and most expensive thing to manufacture.

Stickers and stuff are nice, I just don't put them on anything, they sit in my drawer because I'm commitment-phobic when it comes to cute stickers, especially if they were expensive.

As for keychains, I only ever need one and I wouldn't put them on my car keychain because it'd bump into the side of the car and make a bad noise, probably, like most little keychain accessories do.

Something that would be really cute would be mugs with quotes on them. (The designs could also transfer to stickers and stuff, tbf)

Imagine a mug with two of the 2021 Earth Day Dogs on it that has a little heart and it's one of those "Distance means so little when someone means so much" mugs. Or even like, a climate change awareness mug with the 2021 earth day dogs on it.



And then there's an infinite possibility of xmas mugs with the xmas pets on it, same with valentines and other holiday themed pets.

I'd love a "Gachapon" shirt with all of the gacha dogs on it.

It feels a little gamble-y but imagine a thing where you buy a "Gacha" sticker/keychain/etc and its one of the gachapon dogs and what one you get reflects their rarity in-game. I think that'd be cute. (so the gold one is the most rare, the blue-green and the dark blue are next, then its the pink and green, and finally the light blue and purple are the most common ones)

Or a "save the bees" design with literally any of the bee-themed pets/items on it.

A shirt with all of the "Punk" dogs from the 2010 Store.

A design that says, "OMG, So Rare!" in rainbow, and it's got the UR Tiger and/or the Sunback on it.

Tons of cool ideas for stickers/etc that're more than just "this pet but now its a sticker"

love this idea! i'm particularly fond of enamel pins and stickers myself, but I'd be excited for any kind of cs merch tbh!!

perhaps a solution could be doing it by preorders and devoting part of that cost to a fulfillment company to offset the cost of shipping?

It would be wonderful to see merch again, especially as an enamel pin collector, but iirc Tess said merch was stopped because of the trouble of her being in NZ with most players being in the US and manufacturers being in US or China, shipping was pricey. Buying a $10 item with another potentially $10-20 shipping is not appealing to most people, especially with CS being aimed at a younger audience. If there’s a way to ship merch from the US instead I think it’d be a lot more feasible, but I think that means either a fulfillment center(which I assume is costly, especially for a small merch drop) or having a team member that lives in the US handle the merch instead.
