From the perspective of a user who hoards: I hoard (including some valuable stuff), but I don't want a complete collection. I don't own or look for a lot of the old VR pets, so they are more available to those who want them because my playstyle is not completionism. I'm sure there are a few users who do both, but one playstyle isn't more "greedy" than others. Wanting one of every VR pet is not different than wanting 500 of 1 VR pet except in people's perceptions because they see multiples of a pet they want and feel entitled because they don't have the same interest in that style of collecting. I'm sure my hoard of almost 50,000 less than rare bunnies affects the availability of those bunnies more than my hoard of 30 VR "list" pet bunnies, which is to say not very much, actually. It doesn't matter though, because seeing that group of VR pets (all of which I've dressed up individually with a different theme) affects people emotionally much more than my non-rare ones that I just like to look at pages of because it makes a happy chemical ding in my brain.

If you want the concept of rare and very rare pets to exist, they will by their nature be limited. There will always be people striving to get them and others frustrated by the difficulty of doing so. If we give out more pets on Dec 18th or in other events (which I support) that will affect the rarity. The OMGsoRare! you just got may just be VR by the time we're done giving out stuff. So, just keep that in mind.

As for the poll, I don't really understand it because a lot of the ideas posed in this thread conflict. There is no way to support everything. So, while I personally do support some changes (a lot of which I laid out in previous posts), I have no idea how to answer the poll.

In my opinion the point is we are happy to support some of these suggestions, but we literally have no power to implement them. We are not capable of giving you the answer you want, so it seems like we're missing the point. Trust me, the point is loud and clear to us. We ask you to create separate threads because it is easier to discuss there, but my request for you to turn to what you can do is because I also know that whether it's the big thread or an individual thread, I can't promise anything will come of it. But, if you do things that you are in control of, that will at least happen. I want the admins to respond too, but I can't make them.

i agree with this. even if it's not their fault, it's really frustrating to hear "the community should just do more :)". i wish the admins with the ability to make change would step in but i fear our love and care is going to waste so i give up lol

sorry if this is considered Ranting but i've been as helpful as i can this entire time

THIS. It is the admins job to figure out what the changes should be. They should not be expecting the users to fix it themselves.

I think you may be missing the point of this thread, and while I understand, it feels like the main admins no longer care about the site and are perfectly content letting it run like this

I don't think anyone here should be providing unpaid labor in the way if going into detail to figure out how to make cs better and how to implement it. CS should be immensely thankful that users love this place so much to provide a spreadsheet of ways to make the game better.

This game is for kids yet staff and admin expect users to do all the work to make the game better. It doesn't make sense lol.

I don't really think they're exactly looking for the users to figure everything out. Directing people to make suggestions threads has multiple purposes. It gives someone an opportunity to expand on their idea a little more while also gauging user support for the certain idea. If staff were to come up with ideas solely on their own, I can imagine they would get a lot of backlash for things like not thinking of how the users feel about it.

Staff not really listening to suggestions is a different story though. I'm sure it's not necessarily that they don't listen, but there's probably a lot of internal debate about these sort of things. Even if a suggestion is widely popular, it may be widely unpopular to a silent majority. We never know.

At the end of the day, staff are volunteers. As far as I'm aware, only artists get any sort of compensation for their work done on the site. I'm sure the staff love the website just as much as the users do to be able to work tirelessly without any sort of compensation. I'm sure many moderators can't even do anything about suggestions besides bring it up to higher-ups.

Semi unrelated, it's a little disheartening to see the how staff are talked to/about or blamed for various things. I've been a moderator for a discord server of 40k+ people and it's harder than you might think. And that's way less than the amount of members on Chickensmoothie. 😅

as an admin assistant, what do you have the power of? /gen
surely someone is able to discuss these things with the owners of the site? i’m just so confused because nobody knows what any of the staff is actually capable of and if none of this is even possible then what’s even the point of this entire thread?

Thank you for the reply, we understand that you can’t control the admins and it isn’t your job to implement any of these things, we appreciate you Lacuna <3

As for the poll, sorry if I wasn’t clear in my description, but it is referring to the original post on the thread discussing the issues, it is asking whether people agree that those issues exist!

I understand concerns about security, but I have to say that if 2fa is added, I hope it will NOT be the 2fa that is that "which picture features a stop sign" captcha type. I haven't been able to get those kinds of things to work on any of my devices in years. I can't even login to one site I used to use for years now because they switched the security login to that type. I would click the correct picture, but it would never go through no matter how many times I tried. So, if 2fa is added, I'd prefer some other form. If it was the kind listed above, I would never be able to get into the site. I don't know if there are other types (aside from fingerprint/facial recognition, with which I'm not comfortable at all). Or maybe 2fa could be optional and users could choose which option in their profiles?

Please do NOT send trades for my event tokens. I rarely trade tokens before I get all of the event items/pets that I want. When my tokens are for trade, I will put that in my trade posts on the trade threads. Thank you.

Cs already has a captcha, however it’s if you get your password incorrect too may times!

I do know that there is 2fa in the form of sending a one-time-use code to a phone (via text) or email account! :) I have this enabled for logging onto my Steam account and it's very helpful. I think having the ability to opt into something like that would be awesome and definitely help to prevent account breaches.

There’s only one or two others commonly used — universities seem to like the one that makes you open an app on your phone to verify it’s you. It only works if you have a phone. And another sends a text and makes you type the text in. Again, only works if you have a phone and that could be a problem for a lot of younger players who may not have a phone, or it would go to their parents phone and would be a bit of a hassle.

Yeah fair. Unfortunately I agree and feel they will just continue to leave things as they are until the site dies off.
