honestly, listening to so many people chime in about hoarding is kind of making me change my opinion a bit.
i’m not sure if i totally support hoards, but i can start to understand why people might do it. i also sort of agree that maybe i/other players shouldn’t refer to them all as greedy- looking at it as a whole, i think it’s a very small subsection of people who are genuinely toxic and intend to try to get people to overpay for their hoards/rare pets. I feel like after listening to peoples feedback i was looking at it from the perspective of a few bad encounters, and just assuming that was the majority. i don’t know if i’ll support hoards, but i do think i’ve got more compassion for people who do it genuinely, and just really like the pet they are collecting.

I actually agree with this. I'll edit my post to take out some of the more severe language. To be honest I was basing my post on some actual toxic/negative interactions I've had with hoarders and I didn't mean to lump all hoarders in on it and that I'll apologize for. I'm still not a huge fan of high-demand hoards and I don't think I ever will be, but I did not intend to villainize all of the people that have them and I am sorry for that. Everyone is allowed their own opinions and everyone is allowed to voice them.

Honestly, speaking about hoards, I personally don't have an issue with it. Those people earned the pets. They traded for them, they gave something for them, etc. They worked for them. It's theirs. That's fine.

I think it's fine to be annoyed at others for having rare pets and collecting the same one, but... that isn't really the issue in my opinion. I think that is just really controlling and someone else would just take the pet and not trade it away anyway, meaning that it doesn't really make a difference besides lets a couple other people get the same pet. Then the other users who want it, can't get it, because there are simply not anymore. I hope that makes sense I feel the same about old accounts, I don't think it's fair that you could work to get things and have it taken from you because you aren't active. I certainly see the side of ''They literally won't log on again likely'' but.. what if they do? Trade reversals then? Or ''Deal with it''?

I think CS needs to have some type of event to bring some pets back or honestly just something like that. I believe it was stated they won't do it with c$ store pets because it was promised they won't be returned to the game and people spent money with that in mind. Correct me if I am wrong! It really sucks though because... yeah, CS should keep their promise for sure, but yeah it sucks! I don't really know the solution

I am a bit unsure what the purpose of this poll is, the front page basically seems to be saying that 'things need to change' and I think its pretty clear most everyone on this thread agrees that at least some changes are needed, including staff who have posted here.

I know I've said this before as well as some of the other staff, but if you want to effect change I really suggest making separate suggestion threads for specific things you want changed. A general thread asking for 'changes' isn't something staff or admins can actually act on, and all the suggestions in this threads and discussion around them are spread out over 160+ pages. This is essentially just going to turn this thread into a spot for people to complain about things they don't like, which has happened to a number of other threads like this one in the past.

I really suggest encouraging people to make suggestion threads for each specific suggestion, and discuss them in more detail, things like different ways it could be implemented, pros/cons, etc. Something more actionable than a general call for changes. As great as it is to talk here about cool changes that could be made, I doubt the admins have time to read through this entire thread looking for things they can actually implement, and a google doc full of 1-sentence suggestions doesn't say much on how they would be implemented or user's thoughts on them.

But that's one of the big problems that we have already discussed, Celozon. Nobody seems to listen to those threads, so what's the point. We've tried that, so we're trying something new. We want to be heard and admins aren't listening, so here we are. This probably won't work either but I wish you would stop telling us to make individual threads when we have already said those don't work. I think the biggest thing people want is change. SOMETHING. Just change something, which I feel is the point of this thread. We're giving suggestions but it doesn't have to be those specific suggestions. Just make some big changes to the site. It desperately needs it. We just want to be heard and individual suggestion threads are shown to not work!

For the tone tag discussion, I am definitely in the party of feeling like it's not quite all-inclusive as there is a HUGE gap between generations and overall understanding of their intentions. /lh and /nm (Lighthearted and not mad) tone tags have a sort of passive aggressive undertone for me, which would ultimately end us up in the same issue people experience with current staff replies.

I wanted to quote you for this part, but yeah! I agree. And it's so easy to write a really passive aggressive sentence and then put /nm (Not mad) when in reality you are really mad but expect the user to just accept it and not complain because you put /nm at the end (Even though you don't mean it and are mad. I don't think people would use them truthfully). I hope that makes sense. I am trying to say it is so easy to type some tone tag and not mean it. I probably did a horrible explanation.

Other people find tone tags useful, I personally would get offended if someone used them on me because they feel demeaning to me.

People may be upset about having paid x much and it declining in value, and maybe I’m biased because I don’t have the super high value pets like the Cerberus or the Raven, but I personally wouldn’t be opposed to a re-release. Even a surprise couple (2-3) every few months entering “the economy” could be beneficial in stimulating it. I think there are separate kinds of hoarders; those that do it for value sake and those that do it because they like the pet. I’m also not certain if people like the Cerberus because they like the design or if it’s a subconscious thing because they like the design and it’s very valuable, almost like a status thing.

I do hoard and collect various things though. I don’t want every old pet though, and it may seem like justifying but I’m really only interested in owning old rats. I have multiples of some designs, like the Christmas ones, but other designs I only have 1 of.

THIS. It is the admins job to figure out what the changes should be. They should not be expecting the users to fix it themselves.

THIS. It is the admins job to figure out what the changes should be. They should not be expecting the users to fix it themselves.

i think one of the problems is the admins/staff might feel like they’re being attacked when in reality it’s completely justifiable frustration coming from the playerbase. instead of getting defensive, they need to try to understand what we’re saying and why we’re saying it.
