Isn’t that why the
spreadsheet exists?
What site admin or staff is going to take a spreadsheet with a bunch of unexplained, one sentence, complaints and a pixel art among us seriously???
I have said this before, the spreadsheet it’s just for us to plan out our thoughts on specific topics and discuss/ know what has already been suggested

Oh my god this. I love the site I've just been browsing this thread the last few days to see other people's perspectives, but this is something that really irks me. Some people will hoard 10-15 of the same highly desired (especially older) pets only to sell them at EXTREME prices. it's insane and it's not fair to casual players. Sure, price the pets at what you personally value them, but when you have 11 of that exact same pet and you refuse to lower your extremely high price... it's just sad and it takes away what's fun about the site.
i’d like to add onto this with one thing: expensive hoards are just ways for players to control the market or sometimes over sell. I had a few hoards in the past, but i rarely collect for them anymore, because i realized there wasn’t much fun in keeping tens of the same pet. Even when i did hoard, it was only common pets. I feel hoarding highly sought after pets/rares in general is just sort of unfair and a bit greedy…
Absolutely I agree, I've had a few hoards but they were all vc-common. But going to trade with someone and just seeing 10 of one of my rarer wishlist pets is sooo discouraging because I just know that they will not be willing to trade them away unless I overpay for it.

Throwing in my two cents about hoarding. It might be discouraging to see someone who has multiples of a pet, especially one older and/or limited, but it must be kept in mind that they paid for that pet. Each and every one they own. If someone's going to come after me for being a greedy player for my old hoards, which I completed within the year those pets released, I would be pretty upset to hear that. I can understand how it's frustrating, sure. Some people have several of the same pet that I would love to have just one of. But you can't go telling people how to play a pet collecting site, you cannot police how other players want to enjoy and which pets to obtain.

The fact that i have 10 of the same rare doesnt make it any less rare. I expect a fair offer for it,i am not accepting 2 commons because i have 10 anyways...
I agree that the values are insane these days, but that is because of the community. Staff cant really fix that. They can add more rarities, but that is all. The demand and all it up to the community. All we can do is make new guides and hope people will pick up.

(adding onto the above post about hoards)
in general, wealth hoarding and general hoarding of so called “valuable” pets make the trading community so toxic. I feel as though people who overprice pets for more than they bought them for are trying to artificially influence the market- buy up as many of the store pets as possible, and then sell them for more just to be able to have another couple hundred c$.
it’s just discouraging, esp for new players

this!! i do understand the frustration-- trust me, i saw someone hoarding the litter my store pet dreamie was from and was SO sad for a moment. but they worked hard and likely paid a good bit of real money for those dragons! and us going after other pets we perceived as greedy when we're trying to stop the economy from becoming a sort of "us vs them" situation is only making it worse. let's focus on how to make things better for everyone in the long run 🙏.
i do get how inflating the value for those pets can suck, but people who dont want to trade their hoards arent the problem there-- in fact, i imagine people who hoard and mark up their pets tenfold when trading would be the problem? but either way i dont think we should go after people who hoard more valuable pets in general

this is true, and i understand where you might be coming from. /gen
i’m just confused why people find it fun to hang onto dozens of valuable pets, seemingly only to be able to have the status of “having x amount of this rare pet”, and whatnot. It really doesn’t impact anything substantial in the real world, this is a pet collecting site after all, but it’s just sad to see how far this community has just gone to hoarding the “wealth” of certain pets. None of this is terribly important, but it certainly doesn’t make the site very fun for people trying to play casually and collect some of their dreamies or highly sought after pets for their collections.
gah i hope i dotn sound aggressive, this truly is an inconsequential issue but i sort of just wanted to comment on it

I have a vr hoard myself (no store pets) and i work hard to get them and pay fairly for them. I understamd people wantthat pet, but i love it too. It gets rereleased every dec 18th. I have over 30, does that really effect the market with over 250.000 members? I doubt it.
I know people dont always like vr hoards, but people have the right to hoard. They will not make it against the rules, so there isnt really a point in discussing it tbh. It will never change.

As much as I understand why it's that way, I don't think the "official" C$ values are helping the site. It's a mathematical fact that you can pay cheaper for an extremely rare pet in C$ than you would in '09 rares. This causes a large amount of people to want to buy pets with C$, and sellers naturally want to drive their prices up because the "official" price doesn't feel fair to them, while people complain that their prices are too high compared to the "official" value. I don't know what the solution for this would be, but pretending like the C$ value of a pet is equal to its '09 value is not it.

coming from me, i personally do it because i love the pet/pets i'm hoarding! their designs are really nice, or they remind me of someone close to me (in the case of the wolpers from the current event i almost hoarded, which reminded me of my sister), or some other sentimental value. its why i dont like people going after hoarders-- you dont know how much that pet may mean to them, yk? so lets focus on how we can improve the site for everyone rather than going after those we perceive as "bad" or "greedy", imo
