The fact that Tess and Nick will probably never see this thread makes me kinda sad. There are so many good ideas and so much potential here, and the only people who could ever implement those ideas will never know about them.

Exactly! Like I love how lower staff is in support of these but...its becoming obvious they can't *do* anything about it.

It feels like we're just in an echo chamber and no one is listening. We have plans, ideas, we want to collaborate and try new things, but...who here who can actually implement changes is Actually Listening?

Until Tess/Nick comment on *any* of these numerous threads I've seen of similar topics...I have a sinking feeling its all pointless, and thAt is what kills my hope for this game more than anything.

Funniest thing to me about this is like?

When the coding messed up and there was that owl/squirrel you could adopt multiple of during the camping event? Nick got to that IMMEDIATELY. Like that was fixed and all the extras traded to the pound then deleted within like, minutes.

But the community coming together and airing their grievances with the site because they genuinely want to see CS thrive and not die out and want there to be actual change implemented over issues that users have had for a long time?

i think that the user base having absolutely 0 understanding about the difference between what an admin vs an admin assistant vs a global mod vs any other staff member can do really adds to confusion and frustration. especially when something happens and users can see red, green and purple names online but there are no answers to whats going on… it just adds to the confusion.

seriously! it's really very frustrating!
it SEEMS like the only people who are able to do anything are tess and nick and they are never here unless something big happens like ... hacking events. so what are we supposed to do but be confused and wonder why the only people who can make things happen are seemingly never here?

this. which i think adds to that tension between the users and the staff. because it makes it seem like i’m mad at staff such as celozon or lacuna, who are trying their best to respond and mitigate questions, when in reality i’m just confused because the staff that can do something are never anywhere to be found and don’t seem to care about the concerns.

Absolutely agree. Tess and Nick need to hand over CS to someone who cares or become more involved. That or CS will just decline in users more and more until the money coming in doesn't cover the costs of the server anymore and they decide to just shut CS down for good.

Huh, I just realized that...

i realized that too. a while ago when those accounts were hacked and trades had to be reversed, nick was right on top of that. didn’t say anything to help the situation, just made a comment and locked a thread then was gone. it seems the only admin ever around is simon, and i’m assuming they can’t do anything because it all seems to come down to tess and nick so like… h o w do we move forward knowing the owners of the site don’t care about us?

Can I just slip in my Patreon idea again? I think doing a Patreon subscription with "behind the scenes" stuff would be fun. Scrapped pet ideas, voting on the next month's store pet species, etc....which in turn, with enough Patreons would make maybe enough money to do the whole merch thing? Plushies, stickers, pins, etc.

This sounds like a really fun idea, and a great way for CS to make some money and reopen the CS Mall!
Speaking of money and the CS Mall, maybe the CS team could start a Makeship plushie campaign to make money? I would totally buy a plushie of Avian, and seeing pictures of the scrapped (?) Sunback plushie really makes me wish that the CS Mall could reopen.

OOO, maybe making plushies of the most loved pets, or have the community vote for which one they want turned into a plushie? Im a plushie addict so id so buy it in a heart beat

quoting because starting up a patreon could in turn lead to actually paying someone to assist with coding. so many of these suggested changes have to do with code, and this little website certainly isn't nick's priority (i don't blame him at all).

what does the money from purchasing C$ go towards exactly? obviously money is needed to maintain the site, but i'm curious about what specifically it goes towards, like the domain, etc.

I think its less that and more people just want to be heard, is all. And this topic is great and all, but its downright worthless if the two folks who cAn make a change, don't even look at it.

No one here wants to bring them down, we all love the site. We just...want to be heard and see that our input as a community has worth.
