WHY PEOPLE ARE QUITTING CS- A Discussion

regarding the rereleaaing of old pets n the releasing of new vrs, iirc the last rare pet that was distributed through a regular monthly litter which does NOT include the zebra was the black eastern dragon, and that was all the way back in 2015. dropping litters with new rare pets could help newer users out SO well.

id also reccomend gifting new users to help them out ! sometimes ill look at the newest user and give them a couple of pets to help them get started.

I mentioned it earlier and I'll mention the idea again: the hype around the may/June lionesses were huge. The August pps was huge. The rainbowmane was huge when it came out too. Zebras are released at random when you adopt horses. The same used to happen when you adopted malk pets back in the day -- a random chance to adopt a dragon.

These VR/omgsr releases drop major value into the community at random, giving a chance for newer members to get valuable pets. It forces old users to circulate their older pets for the cool new monthly releases too.

We don't need to uproot the cs economy by rereleasing old pets more, or releasing old store pets again. We need CS to give value to accounts without us having to pay for it. The only pets that are released with value today are store pets. I don't think enough people are angry about that. I am. I don't think newer users should have to drop money to play this game. I never had to and I don't think that's fair.

i think this is a really fun idea! it would also make adopting in general more exciting. i remember the hype in 2012 and wondering if a litter would have some rare outcome. it's a shame it hasn't really happened since (tho i may be unaware of a recent one, i've been inactive for quite a while and just got back into CS) but bringing some more value to recent pets would be amazing and could definitely help bring more of those older pets into circulation as they're traded for them.

looking at things now, i have no idea how newer users are meant to get lists if they aren't lucky enough to get em from a pound or giveaway or have the skills to be commissioned. i was fortunate to join when i did and accumulate the rare pets that i have now. i definitely wouldn't have the will to painstakingly trade up were i to have joined in this past year

im confused. theres been many rare monthly releases since then. dating as close as last october i think with those pumpkinny rats. plus theres the golden gacha dog ??

Another suggestion incoming: aside from maybe bringing back the cake contest perhaps among other contests with similar spirit (which I haven't seen added to the suggestions spreadsheet, so I'm repeating myself lol), maybe we could sort of "bring back" custom pets/items (like rainbow smoothie) or even just an unlockable stamp as a thank you for achievements, such as maybe your site suggestion being implemented? Just a little treat as a pat on the back, scalable appropriately the more helpful things have been submitted by the user. It's been a long while since I've seen a custom owned by a non-staff user, and I remember they were even handed out as injokes sometimes back in the day

Definitely agree with you about new users shouldn't have to drop a ton of real life money to play! I do like the idea of adding more VR/omgsr to monthlies for sure! I know a lot of people who have been playing since the start of ChickenSmoothie have never gotten a zebra in their adopts despite always adopting all the horses and ponies each month so adding more chances for this type of thing to happen could definitely help. However, I still feel doing the rerelease would help sginificantly as well. There just generally needs to be more opportunites to get VR/omgsr pets so that users are able to get the older pets they want.

for new users a new user package might be a good idea, where you can get quite a few good pets (randomized so those pets dont entirely lose their value or maybe a newbie exclusive pet so newbies can trade them around for good stuff)

I'm all for having VRs/OMGSRs in free adopts, but not as a littermate. Plus it'll be difficult to collect due to a lot of users striving to complete each month.

but what if they made a special release pet special to each litter like the zebras? That way there's no stress trying to get everything BUT get some valuable pets to others by adopting! And adjusting the drop rate of it too

we don't need more re-releases and we don't need store pets to be released again. store pets and limited items have always been that way and there's no reason to change it. it's unfair to those who purchased back in the day thinking those things would not come back. bringing rare pets back to normal monthly adopts is a wonderful way to get more rare pets in circulation and help out newer players.

Not sure why you think the last one was in 2015, we have had plenty of rare monthly adopts since then, first one that came to mind was the 2021 gold gatcha dog though I know there are others as well.

Also just a gentle reminder that the very fact a pet is rare or every rare means not everyone will get it so I wouldn't necessarily assume that means it will benefit new users in general, many would not get it.

Same goes for things like a welcome package. If every new user got the same welcome package the pets might initially be rare but would eventually be common or every common as more people join. We can't just label a pet as rare, its determined by how many active users have the pet vs all active users. Even if we did find some way to ensure they were rare, I feel like it would only encourage people to cheat by making a new account and then sending themselves the pets, which is already a major issue during events and Dec 18th.
