I just picked it up again last year and have honestly been very overwhelmed since although I have enjoyed my time for the most part. As many people have mentioned, I cannot, for the life of me, figure out trading values. Nor do I have to patience (or mental capasity) to really try to figure it out. So this is certainly a huge issue that admins just don't seem to address at all. Every suggestion really does get shut down, with little to no thought. "Staff have stated there will be no rerelease of store pets." "Staff have stated there will be no rerelease of older pets beyond Dec 18th." Why though? I know reasons have been given, but all the reasons I have ever seen really only work for when the site was in its first few years of running. Now that older pets and store pets have such absolute INSANE value, I'm sorry but, those reasons just don't sound good anymore. SOMETHING needs to be done, and if admins keep shutting people down, refusing to change any aspect of the site even a little, and ignore the issues that are right in front of them, the site will shut down. It's not a matter of if, but when. I hate to be a downer, but I'm afraid that's just how it is. I really hope that doesn't happen, but I fear that is where it is headed. I could go on and on about suggestions, things that need to be done, and all that, but I'll end my rant here for now.
I will end this by giving some things that I like about the site:
The artists create some awesome looking pets!
Many people are so kind in the community and I've recieved many random gifts from people.
A lot of the staff are also very friendly and fun.
I like the aspect of being able to trade using other websites. A lot of websites I feel do not allow this and I'm so glad ChickenSmoothie does.
This!
I feel like the main root of SO many issues that people have with CS in general links back to the inactivity/unavailability of Tess and Nick. Even though they've said there wont be another re-release, why is that?
Is there a genuine reason?
Well, we might never know because they're just never around, unless some trade reversals are happening anyway.
If there aren't enough pets in circulation either because of hoarding or inactive dead accounts, then something needs to be done to make sure that the trading scene doesn't stagnate any more than it has.
