question for conall: whats the lake story?

I said about it 2 days ago 😭

And stick them onto everything
If it don't conform to what you were born into,
Then you run the other way
You say, "now what's your style and who do you listen to?" Who cares?
Well that rat race ladder-climbing fake-face smile's got nothing on me.

something thats been on my mind and Electric~lime~zebra asking Cirrus reminded me:

question for Lunu: what do you know about the Fintastic canoe that has been spotted in the Glamping grounds and on the lake?

also question for Penny: how did you know that Cirrus was missing and possibly captured? (I'm referring to the song you sang about freeing Cirrus) after all, only a couple to the staff knew the situation at the time
À la folie et au-delà.

Hey there! Just wanted to let you know I shared what I saw over at my campsite! From what I've seen I really think it might have been one of those cryptids! If it was someone like Mason or Seraphine, wouldn't they have said something to me? It doesn't make sense that they would just take me out there without even saying what they wanted, but maybe the cryptids can't talk and don't know sign language either?

WAIT HOLD ON didnt Andrea sign something to one of the glampers back when the clues were being released?

is it possible the GLAMPERS are in league with the cryptids? and maybe they have taught them sign language?? maybe they got mad at cirrus for having fairy lights up and wanted to teach her a lesson before they all got in trouble for it?

I'm trying to piece everything together in my mind, but there's always a nagging suspicion that the culprit is the person you least expect. Hmm...

Seraphine! you said there was someone who sometimes subbed in for you at the watchtower. do you mind sharing who this is and giving us a description of them? :D

*EDIT TO ADD A Q FOR MASON* Mason!! Does your brother who used to fake cryptid appearances also work at the camp?

*EDIT TO ADD ANOTHER QUESTION FOR CIRRUS* Did you write your name on your food bag with purple marker yourself? or did a camp counselor do that for you?

I think looking at all the clues, that it was Seraphine that did it!
Here's why imo:
I'm thinking she isn't as close with the other campers so she didn't vent her frustrations about the Glampgrounds verbally much, so she felt like that she had to express her feelings in a more physical manner, but that she wanted to simply scare the Glampers off, not hurt anyone, thus the food and such.
It's too suspicious that an experienced nature expert got lost like that, and the orange could match, so could the brown actually, she's too calm for someone that's supposedly gotten lost as well, if anything she's cheerful and casual about it?
Which is super weird!
Plus she was missing for quite some time, yet somehow mysteriously got herself unlost? That doesn't make sense.
She made the neon signs, and the raspberries were in a similar direction to the cave if I'm not mistaken?
She was also trusted enough to make trails for campers, if she was this easily able to get lost, she wouldn't have been so trusted to make safe trails!
She's experienced with forest knowledge to the point that she told Moose some things he didn't know about some forest mushrooms, so I'm thinking she could fake animal tracks and potentially cryptid tracks as well.
Plus she keeps playing innocent about a few things (I can't remember off the top of my head but there has been a few)
And it's all so very convenient that she just so happened to get lost right when there was a fire signal, thus delaying rescue of Cirrus. And she says she didn't see anything even though Cirrus kept the fire signal lit for quite some time!

Potentially she's a cryptid herself, but I'm thinking she doesn't have accomplices either way. Otherwise why would she make herself so suspicious? If she had accomplices they could've helped her be less suspicious! I'm also thinking a secoundary motivation could be that she cares for the cryptids or wants to keep them safe, I'm thinking this cause she was so adamant about not believing in them, and even tried to swap out Mason's cryptid books for others aka trying to eliminate information?
But her plan has backfired because I think the cryptids are really kind creatures and seeing Cirrus in distress they've grown concerned and that's why they're approaching the camp a lot more now, remember the animals and cryptids really started to approach after Cirrus went missing, so I'm thinking that they started coming closer out of concern for our safety!
Remember Cirrus felt watched the entire time and nothing bad happened to her, I think some cryptids were watching over her to look after her!
Potentially the brown fur doesn't even belong to the kidnapper, but rather some cryptids or a bear in the area, which could be part of why some of the other cryptids were keeping an eye out, so they could explain the situation to the owner's of the cave so that they didn't get startled by Cirrus suddenly being there.
But the orange fluff is definitely suspicious.

That's my thoughts so far on this investigation at any rate!
Idk if this'll be helpful or not, but figured I might as well post my theory! c:

Throwing my hat in the ring with Seraphine as well. Seraphine's fur was on the trail signs, and they knew about the sign that had been turned around. Pretty sure they messed with it as an excuse. They went missing at the same time as our Glamper and just popped up later with no new information. Mason may be in cahoots, too, as he has brown fur... and orange fur, to be fair. It's striped. He also has wings...

IMO the red reflection in the bushes was Seraphine's coat. We were being watched. Perhaps like Cirrus felt.

In a way it feels too obvious.

aww, i really liked all these ideas! came on here at last bc it’s the final day to figure this out ^^’ just going to voice my thoughts based on the NPC’s quotes, responses, and actions! <3

i believe that all the staff are guilt-free, for the most part. while maybe some of them might know more than they are letting on, i do think that we were led to believe that mason is super sus to draw our attention away from the real culprits.

i think maybe we’re all realllyyyyy overthinking this, and it’s just the cryptids/cave-dwellers! now, as a swiftie, i totally am used to looking at every little tiny detail and using it to extrapolate an elaborate plan ahahaha. however, from the clues and responses from NPC’s, i think the answer is much simpler than we think and has been right in front of our noses the whole time lol.

conall tells of us a story abt a cave (the 2021 cave, likely) where mysterious creatures were released into this dimension (i believe that was the gist of the story? idk, i wasn’t here for the cave event lol). we have gotten CONSTANT clues and tidbits abt cryptids — mason’s rantings, giant birds, red eyes, the lake shadow, and then having the creatures actually revealed to us through the adoptions.

as cirrus and conall mention, there was brown fur at cirrus’s makeshift campsite that conall said had been there for awhile. i think we’re meant to be falsely led that it’s mason’s, but i think the true answer is that it was the sasquatch’s (and old clump of fur bc they live there, and is likely to loose fur there often). in addition, we also get the hint that whoever led cirrus away was walking funny — this could be bigfoot’s infamous gait, or perhaps it was even the nightcrawler who led her away (those super long legs might look funny walking lol). cirrus also tells us she felt watched — likely the mothman creatures, as well others, i’m sure.

the cryptids are getting fed up with the glampers’ lazy and careless camping practices, and don’t have any other way to send a message. none of the camp smoothie campers or staff has been touched, bc our staff are all very adamant abt our camping practices and make sure we leave no trace.

the cryptids never really hurt cirrus, and they even provided her with food, water, and supplies, and kept watch over her to make sure she stayed safe. if you think about it, they even took her to their own home, perhaps to try and encourage her to seek them out and have a heart-to-heart.

i still can’t explain the trail signs getting mixed around, the FINTASTIC canoe, or probably a few other things i’m forgetting abt ^^’ but this is just my two cents and the accumulation of my thoughts over the event! (: feel free to share if i missed anything or an idea should be reevaluated! <3

This honestly is my favorite idea and what I hope the actual explanation is
