yeah, please do not change the site layout :')
i would probably be more prone to quitting if the layout was significantly changed, there are bigger issues than the site layout being "outdated" or whatever. i personally love the somewhat outdated look of the site, however there are certainly improvements that could be made to some parts of it, but i would hate for the entire site to be modernized.

i think what might be better than changing the layout completely would be more board preferences!! i love the space one but i’d personally love a pink/valentines themed one!!

I think it's a little bit outdated but overall really great. With a couple changes it could be perfect, but honestly I think it's already great. I feel like changing it a lot would just make it look like some mobile game with round letters and stuff.

What I'd actually love as a change is more backgrounds to the forum. ATM I have the blue sea one but I'd love something with pink clouds and rainbows lol.

Hi! New member here and have been on CS since 2021 and so far with my time being here on the site has been relatively fun and somewhat of a pass time for me. Since I’m busy with other things and I only come to accept trades (if I ever get any), to participate in the events and to collect the monthly pets. Though there was two instances that I’d consider that left a bad taste in my mouth but due to certain rules and restrictions I’ll tread very lightly and won’t go into great detail so I don’t lose my account or the message gets deleted.

When I first joined I had no idea what I was doing and I was confused by the trading, but wanting to expand and try something I sent my first trade to a user and I had read their rules and they said they can trade Wishlist for Wishlist without any rares being a factor into the trading, so I sent them a trade but out of no where they said due to the rarity differences it was a “unfair” trade and that if I sent them another one I’d be blacklisted, so I held off from trading for a while until people started trading with me and started asking why I didn’t have any rules set in place. Personally for me, I feel like rarities, species etc doesn’t matter, if I have a animal you want and you wish to give me a item, pet/etc in return, I wouldn’t decline. Everyone should be allowed to trade despite the rare thing being involved, who cares about the rarity of a pet? I certainly don’t, but some people may disagree but I completely respect that 100%. It’s just a personal opinion. That’s why whenever I do trades, I’m very polite and open to everyone. And my rules are quite fair (if not, do tell me! I’m open to changes/criticism.) But yeah that’s my take with the trading system here.

Now I’ll be careful about this next one. The rules on about personal information, like age, birthdate, full names, etc. Nowdays people are getting more comfortable and want to make friends outside of CS and online games, so they’ll automatically ask for ages, names, their birthday (to send gifts etc) but yet we can’t link to any sites (Carrd for example) that have a DNI list, or with information that people should know even during the most simplistic conversations. A lot of people ask me for information for a clarification and everything, but being unable to do that made things difficult. I had my carrd linked to my profile description once but a mod (won’t disclose name/username) told me I had to remove it because I had a DNI list (which is very vital these days, I didn’t put names, just basic things I don’t want to associate with, nothing bad. Besides blacklisting is weird in the circumstances of games, personal opinion though), a ao3 account that has ‘smut works’ on it (but I feel like what I do on my own time outside of the site shouldn’t be mentioned, it’s quite unfair in that regard) and my instagram having my last name in it. Correct me if wrong, but lying about your name or even your age is quite an offence and I’d rather people know my real name then call me by my usernames (though at this point, for the games, I don’t mind ofc), but I digress. I feel like we shouldn’t have to hide our true selves and what makes us uncomfy on CS, like I mentioned, when meeting new people nowdays (from my experiences) people will always ask for your age at the very least.

People can disagree (like I said before) and I’m fine with that, but I just feel that we as the players should at least have a bit more freedom to express ourselves, I understand with the kids and everything, but maybe if you’re gonna have a game with both minors and adults sharing it, least make spaces to divide the two away from each other.

That’s all I have to say, but what do you guys think?

i disagree with this. Yes, this site is one for both adults and kids but the key is, kids are a part of it. Us as adults should honestly be ok with this, not trying to be harsh but if a user is upset with the minor target audience of this site, dont interact. Sure, having certain restrictions on language, content etc. can be annoying but because this site is for children, it is nessecary. The online world is incredibly unsafe as it is, so I’m my opinion at least, most of the cs rules regarding safety of minors is quite vital. The truth of the matter is, kids don’t know what too much can mean, whether it’s sharing their ages innocently or clicking a link harmlessly to find things they don’t yet understand. As stated before, kids take after others and if a kid sees a user say “yeah I’m 23” then what’s gonna stop them from sharing that similar information. Yes, the adult isn’t in harm, but then the minor is. I think we would all feel pretty horrible if something took place simply because we stated our 18+ age.

It’s really that easy, your not ‘hiding anything’ and even if you were, it’s a hol’ lot better than being the influence that lead a minor being targeted.

As for ao3, if I were a mod or had any influence really, I would have done the same thing. Even on non kid sites, links to inappropriate content isn’t ok. Heck, on Facebook/instagram things like that get taken done every day. Because the truth is, not everyone wants to come in contact with certain content. Doesn’t matter if you’re an adult or minor, everyone can get uncomfortable. I’m not at all implying these kinds of sites ‘are bad’ but simply saying the they are and should remain something that can only be found when willingly searched or purposely found.

Anyways just wanted to give my 2 cents, I don’t think the rules on personal information should ever be changed nor an adult forum be made, it’s just not the point of the site nor is it safe.

:o omg agree I'd go crazyyyyyyyy for a pink board theme, valentines or not... I've always wished for more board themes and we did get one with the new dark theme, but still...

I still want a dark mode CS Mobile design, having to do the "desktop mode" does not do it for me and makes it even harder to navigate.

My eyes are a little sensitive + i have bad vision and would like to not make it worse by using the bright colors on cs which is why i use CS space but... what i really need is dark mode and i... cant find it in board preferences? Just seems odd to me

Also!!! A CS booth run by modmins or even users would be amazing. There is an anime festival/con going on in novemver that i know of that would be fun to have cs at!!!!!! Id be willing to help out setting it up even- but i am a fulltime student lol!!

I believe CSDark theme is the dark mode haha - It's the one I'm currently using

Pokefarm has the ability to make your own theme by selecting colors on a wheel for each section, and it shows you a preview of what you'd end up with. I wonder if something similar could be implemented here? (So for an example, pokefarm doesn't have a blue theme but I've made mine to appear different shades of blue so it's more pleasant/not as harsh to my eyes)
