Just popping in to say as a player who returned to the site recently after like 5 years away the site isn't the same. People don't just talk to each other any more staff aren't interactive (generally) and overall it feels like many of the threads died. I used to love the rp forums and they are dormant now.

If I tell someone I hate a game it shouldn't mean I get a warning. People literally join Phasmophobia discord to say they hate it and they are right to do that after what the devs did outside the game AND to the game. People can hate WITH REASON. I myself don't like football and I think it's unfun. I hate football and some of the things surrounding it, but by no means is that hate speech in ANY regard. If you silence every negative opinion regardless of what it's on- YOU ARE STILL SILENCING SOMEONE ELSE'S FEELINGS.

personally i think cs is big enough to where one person saying they dislike it shouldnt hurt anyones feelings. this game has been up a long time, it’s seen many rude users or people who dislike it, buut it’s still going anyways. one person saying ‘i hate cs!!!’ shouldnt hurt anyone. same goes for genshin or any other game. it’s just too big to dwell on 3 words.

If I may pivot to a different topic for a bit I want to kind of resurface what was mentioned briefly 10+ pages ago: CS as a site doesn't really have any good avenues for casual chatter at the moment which makes it harder to engage with the actual community. I personally don't RP or partake in closed species and while I like to post in the event threads every now and then there's no... "casual chitchat" thread. I understand part of this is inherently unavoidable just due to the way forums are, but I think allowing some lighter, more casual general talk -style threads would potentially help retain more active forum users.

I feel it's partially why Discord appeals to so many users - there they don't have to worry about whether their posts have enough substance to contribute because the conversation is much more casual and less confined to a specific topic. I know staff has expressed disinterest at an official Discord server or other chatrooms due to moderating issues, so maybe more casual chatter threads could be a good compromise? :]

while i don’t necessarily agree with the way staff handles things sometimes, this conversation is steering from productive to pettiness. there’s no reason to have an “i hate cs” stamp in your signature, this is a really strange and fruitless argument that won’t do anything for fixing the fundamentals of the site.

I think the only hard part is discord is 13+ meaning if there is someone younger on there, their discord can face termination which kinda feels unfair for the under 13 community on CS

edit: just found out discord has diff age requirements due to what country ur in, so it could be different where someone lives

Are people under 13 even allowed on CS? At least without parent supervision? I thought legally they weren't

When I order art, please message me when I ask you too! I do NOT always recheck forums as I am a busy person. There's a chance I won't have payment, I only keep payment when I know that a commission was accepted.

This is also why I feel iffy about the discord we do have. The whole discord kinda feels standoffish and even worse on terms of their mods being rude with warnings. Plus, many people just don't really want to use discord at all. I agree that a casual chitchat thread could be wonderful.

I think it's more that it ties into being silenced. It builds off of threads being locked and stuff being deleted. If you remove any negativity or critique people are going to take notice. I don't think it's actually about "i hate cs!" sticker; rather the principle of not being able to express yourself in how you want and convey your frustrations. Locking threads shuts down talking. Putting something in your signature to show that frustration because it is YOUR signature makes sense.

I DON'T THINK THEY ACTUALLY HATE CS AND I THINK IT'S BEING TAKEN TOO LITERALLY
