I wish that the play base would be able to have pet design challenges and make their own items. CS is about embracing yourself and creativity at times!

I like this idea alot! I would want it to be something relaxed, though-- maybe an official artist would translate designs into official designs, so that regardless of artistic talent, you could enter?

Hordes are only bad when you’re mean about it, friendly reminder! People work really hard to collect things, and this effort should not be limited! If you want to collect every of a certain oet on the site? Go for it! As long as you are being polite and respectful about it.

This! In fact, I frequent use my hoard pets to gift if it's on someone's wishlist or they're looking for it.

Everyone plays at their own way, and shouldn't be put down about it.

hm.. hoards are a bit of a touchy subject. i have a small handful of them myself (though I make sure to keep them only uncommon-very common rather than upright rares), but i think there are other things we can be focusing on in this thread instead of them?

yes, it can be harmful to see people with many of your dreamie- i've personally come across users hoarding the raven of all pets when i cannot get my hands on a single one due to their crazy high demand, but i always remind myself that they rightfully got them in the first place. it hurts, but it's not against the rules, and they spent that time and effort to rightfully get there.

but i do agree on a little arcade! just something that we can idly do throughout the day, even if it's as simple as the little food game in the event right now.

CS could learn a lot from FR

BUT flight rising has to have downtime AT LEAST once a week to keep up with it. Its really demanding OK developers to offer things like mini games and design your own properties

when i started in 2013 a very rare = very rare. now, depending on the pet, multiple very rares = very rare list pet. the UR bee for example is worth more then low demand OMGSR. UR bee very rare is worth what at least 3 nons or something and the some OMGSR pets for example the Fennec fox is worth like 1.5 nons. (correct me if i am wrong)

As a new account on here, I have kind people and the pound to thank for my rare+ collection, it’s EXTREMELY hard to trade up nowadays, I had to overtrade for both my sheepdog and the king cheetah I got my friend because people just… don’t seem to want to get rid of their pets anymore. I do think the pound could use an upgrade

I don't really know how to fix the CS problem for myself.

Pet collecting has no meaning for value to me anymore, which is why I'm trading everything for art, because I'd much rather own unique artwork of characters only I own and have personal meaning to me that no one else can have, versus a bunch of duplicated pixels with a rarity tag stuck on it. The AWFUL inflation on this site and wild demand contributed to just making it a chore and not fun anymore. Why would I bother? Unlike art of my own characters, there's no value in it for me. That's not really a problem that can be fixed, it was just me growing up and realizing that the pets have no worth to me anymore and I value other things. I recognize though, that this is a personal thing.

Also, CS is, as many have said, way too community oriented. I was on CS a lot back when I was into a closed species and a huge part of it's community. But, I am not any longer and all the communities I used to be part of are gone, honestly for the better they got REALLY toxic, and the ones that sill exist here are mostly other closed species ones, which in general I find way too clique and unfriendly. I wouldn't touch Kalons if someone paid me, tbh.

CS in general has become a site where it's just too hard for new users to engage. It's made up of too many old users who have already formed their little gangs and trying to break into anything, whether it be pet collecting or a community, becomes more and more impossible as time passes.

It's like starting a gacha game years after it launched.

All the good stuff is out of reach because it was limited, and everyone is stronger than you.

So there's really no point trying.

all i want to say, as someone who has been on this site for a very long time, its just way too difficult to get the pets you want. even years ago some pets were just far too difficult to for me to try and get to the point where i just gave up, although its certainly not anywhere nearly as bad as it is now. but it is always something ive struggled with on this site and i wouldnt be surprised if it pushes newer players away.

i think its fine for SOME pets to be rare and hard to get, but the weird artificial inflation on certain pets makes it feel truly impossible sometimes. i missed the golden gacha dog thing because i was lucky enough to get one from the litter, but i really feel bad for anyone who wanted it, seeing people talk about it makes it seem nightmarish to deal with and its just a RARE. not even a very rare! and its only like 2 years old!!

nowadays i dont bother. i just play the events a little bit and get my monthly litters. only time i do trades now is when people send them to me. it really just feels like a waste of energy.

all of this and also the lack of new content. i dont think it even has to be anything big, i enjoy how low maintenance this site is, but i gotta say nowadays its a hard sell and i have not been able to get any of my friends to play CS because theres just....nothing to do. just a small thing, anything, SOME kind of innovation, might do some good. seems like theres not enough manpower for it though...

all in all its sad to see the state of CS. i hope something can be done.

Exactly! Even back in 2013 to me it still felt more possible but quickly as the years passed all the pets I got for fair trade suddenly shot up to impossible worths like warrior cats used to actually be more possible to trade even with demand but now it'll cost half a collection to get one

I feel all of this so much. I stopped for a little bit and came back to a bigger mess every time I would log back on. I’ve been working since 2011 for a complete collection of Lions and I’ve finally given up. I just come on for the events and monthly adopts. My newborn folder just grows till I can’t stand it and finally distribute them when it gets to 500+. It makes me so sad. I just patiently wait for a decent trade that’s not stupid complicated.
