Honestly wish they would keep the mini games that they make for summer events on the site year round and have pet drops/item drops from it. Itll keep players busy and more active, while also adding more pets to the trading circulation.

I agree! I think an arcade of sorts would be a very good idea, even if just for fun

awh, that would be so nice. having an archive of the games, and you can earn mini rewards for completing goals within the games would be fun.

This may have been covered. But I think some issues may revolve around the trading system. People tend to make it hard on others. Not locking pets, wanting over pay and not saying, canceling for no reason, trade rot. Not to mention having to search through a lot of accounts. Only for one of those problems to happen. I suggest a market or a sort of new selling mechanic. But I think Nick would need help before that could happen. If they would even want that.

Hoarding uncommon/omgsr pets doesn't really help, but not much can be done there. It's how some people like to play. And I can't blame them for that. That is how they have their fun. But it makes things extremely frustrating, trying to get a new rare. (Example: Gold Gacha Dog) And you can't because everyone is hoarding the dang things. Note this can't be stopped. Unless there was a temporary limit like on Dragon Cave. It can just make dreamy goals that much harder. Even for uncommon pets like baby goat. But that might just be me. haha

I just don’t think it’s helpful to laugh at “greedy” newbies, or laugh at “greedy” old players on their hoards of ancient rare pets. We all want to collect pets, it’s the point of this site. We need to be talking about ways to do that.

I think it’s fair to ask for an older pet for a newer pet that is in “demand” because how else are we supposed to get it?

this might have to do with how hard it might seem to get into the game for new players... i mean, joining into a community 15 years after its formation, starting with nothing but the general monthlies literally everyone else is getting and maybe event pets if you're lucky to join during an event... it's not very promising. you have to visit a bunch of player pounds to stock up on pets, and not everyone has the time or energy to do that. i think it's a great way to get started with familiarizing yourself with trading and interacting with the community, but to new players it might not seem appealing to be constantly running through the same cycle of bump. *password*. trade cancelled due to pet being moved or deleted. resend. trade cancelled. resend. trade goes to rot because player quit the game. over and over again. i was patient enough to do it, and lucky enough to come across a quitting player with no limit on the number of pets you could take... but that's not the reality for a lot of players.

long story short, if you're not into art/oekaki or roleplaying or forum games, there's really just trading left. and trading is hard to do when you have a couple dozen pets and everyone else has hundreds or thousands.

OOF, the cycle you described is so real. Like I mentioned, I started in 2015 and have been on this grind ever since. I'm now playing catchup since I left for several years (thanks ADHD) so I'm right back there again! :lol:

However solutions arise from this thread, please don't be it to punish any player in any way(unless cheating). A lot of us if not all got where we are from being here since the early days and I feel that in itself also deserves to be left alone.

i've been here since 2011, hiatused in 2017, and came back last year after five years away... and i had to be so careful not to just give away all my rares. i thought i was gonna quit due to inactivity so i gave a ton of pets away, and i'm lucky since i did become active again that i didn't give away the 'more valuable' pets. but that said, i've been here a long time and i only have ONE omgso rare pet. and to get that pet (the cinnabun) i had to trade off-site so much FR stuff that i BOUGHT. and by the time they accepted the trade i had given them somewhere between three and four HUNDRED dollars worth of gems and items. i love that cinnabun but i spent real money on all that FR stuff and i had to give all of it away just for that one pet.

that's how hard trading is here. my name is RAVENS folklore, so of course what i want more than anything is the raven dog, and after the difficulty i had just for the cinnabun, i never in a million years expect to get it, and that's truly just disappointing.

things were a lot easier way back when i joined and we didnt have a rares list. terms like 'non' and 'MA' didn't even exist and it's so much more complicated now.

cs should implement games on here like they have on fr, and maybe have some type of reward system?? like i've said before, there's not much we can actually do on the site, and making simple games could help with the activity in between events. i really dont wanna see this site die as i cherish it, but the sad truth is, that cs is slowly dying

I have actually started ignoring the free pets posts because majority of my trades get cancelled and it's not worth it in the end for me to stress about racing to possibly get some pets

Also on restricting the cap of extremely rare pets you can have, it would be hard to implement with those who already have a bunch of pets theyd paid a lot for. You'd have to only do it from that point on and still allow those who have those hoards to still have them unless they got a payout of some sort. I personally don't understand hoards of hundreds of one pet, so that's where I'm coming from on having a cap on a collecting site with only a certain number of every pet.
