I think the saddest thing is all the old players that will never log on again. On my friends list I have so many people who have these huge collections of pets (rares+) and the collection is just sitting there. It hasn't been active in years, like 10+ years.

I think if those pets were introduced into the pound system that a lot of players would have a lucky break with an old rare. I know it may seem unfair, but honestly these players will never log on again.

Idk, just my thoughts as I wish the people I used to play with were still here. But they're not

staff has stated their stance on this iirc - they won't release pets to the pound unless people are banned or asked for it.

it's super frustrating .

I took a four year break and came back. I can see both sides, but if pets I had paid real money for were gone when I came back I'd be super mad.

I love this website and I’ve been active every month since 2014. Major respect to the people that run it. Here are some of my experiences I still remember vividly.

• When I was a COPPA I was allowed to reply to oekaki posts but not forums. I once traded someone with my automated message and they saw my replied posts and were rude about how I was pretending to be a COPPA when I actually was.
• A few months in as a new player I traded someone without knowing the value of certain pets and how the systems worked, I mostly just saw the rarity and thought it was fine. My trade is/was on a link in someone’s “Don’t ever do this” in their trade rules.
• Some player’s trading rules are filled with a bunch of information not needed. Once I tried to trade someone and I had to scroll down very far on the amount of gifs they had.
• My sister got bored with the game when there were no events.
• The Lost and Found is a great concept until you find out there are many little tiny items like frosting decorations and pebbles left when you get there.
• You can’t delete your oekaki posts
• People that hoard very high value pets

Love the site. Love the designs of the pets. Most of these experiences are about other users, which can’t really be helped, but I thought it would give comfort to those who have gone through similar things.
I have a lot of respect for the site.

I just have to say, I disagree with "deleting" inactive accounts. I myself had completely forgotten this site existed, and was gone for quite a few years. The joy I felt when I realized what this site was, and coming back to it, was akin to childhood wonder. Even if those members don't come back, what if they do? Could you imagine coming back to a site you spent hours upon hours on, collecting rare pets and animals, just to log in and notice all your pets are gone, or you account just doesn't exist anymore?

I feel like maybe, CS should have more re-release days? Maybe once every couple years some rarer pets get re-released? I know there's no chance that I'll ever be able to get the sitting warrior cats, but I think it'd be nice to see some rarer pets make a return in the form of, perhaps, a virtual "grab bag"? You adopt 2 and get 2 random, rare, older pets?

glitter wrote:i think the reason why everyone is complaining about trading is cause tbh thats the only thing left to do on this. to put it simply there is nothing left to do here.
making friends is hard, just clicking to adopt pets is boring, nobody wants to rp, trading is a nightmare.
the only thing that i think encourages ppl to log on and STAY are events like the one going on rn. so much more activity near the events. i esp like this one with the little minigame they introduced.
ik events take a lot of time and effort to plan esp with the asmount of pets the aritsts need to make but what if they made more frequent, longer events. and instead of centering it around collecting pets (which would get old and be overworking for artists) they come up with these fun little minigames or contests or like just more story based things that keep ppl around. more interactive stuff basically

agree. absolutely any activities would be so welcome

blues clues wrote:another point i'd like to bring up, i've found tons of old cs accounts that haven't been logged into since like 2012 usually full of these old rares, and they just sit collecting dust. * edit u guys above me literally just brought this up lolol

i'm not sure who or what exactly that falls under but maybe with more passionate mods/admins they'd be able to clean up those old accounts that are no longer being used. there's already a place for old pets to go , ex: the pound , but for how busy the site used to be and how few people are on it now i'm sure there's so many old pets collecting dust that should be funneled back into the system to try and deflate the current numbers some of those 08'-11' pets

I agree with this!! So many old/high value pets are collecting dust in unused accounts! maybe accounts that haven't been logged onto for like 10 years should have their pets sent to the pound!

I really appreciate how civil everyone is being. This is one of the healthiest discussion threads I have seen online. No one is at eachother's neck over things, no one is insulting people, no one is trying to put another down- it's just people talking about a site they're passionate about / adore. I am new so seeing all of you guys voicing what you've dealt with over the years and things you liked and disliked and noticed need fixing is really cool to find out about. This thread also gives new players like me hope because you guys are being understanding even if your account was made in like 2010 that being newer is difficult and trading is hard to do. So I just appreciate this site and community a lot <3

I've always loved this site, and I've met many great players on it and whatever happens now I too appreciate my time with it, and all of the lovely people I've had a chance to interact with. And it always warms my heart when I can give someone something to smile about whether it's a trade for something they really wanted or giving them a gift to brighten their day or to say thank you and sometimes just chatting and enjoying the event and sharing interests.
It's truly an experience not many sites give and even if I have problems with the site it's not something that I want to give up.

SaschaR wrote:I'm a new player here so feel free to ignore my response but one of the things about CS now- at least for me- is that's it's really hard to start out on? Like I only have rares and other such things bc I was gifted them by some v kind people but if that didn't happen I'd be dead in the water.
I also think it's quite overwhelming in general to start out- there's all these links and such to go over and that can def put off anyone who has low energy and/or a young child.
Also the economy is... interesting lol. There's a lot of emphasis on CS dollars and MAs and rares and such so it can feel a little impossible to progress. I can understand those types of things in art shops bc it's basically like paying a person (I personally try to make my art shop affordable to anyone with pets but that's just me personally) but in other things it can be...overwhelming.
That's all, sorry!

ive only been here for a month and most of the rares i have also come from gifts or from commissions (as i can only recieve pay thru this site, due to not having my own bank account yet)
and even then i dont get commissions too often (i dont mean to advertise, if that's how this comes off ^^'')
i wish there was a way to get even a little C$ for free, even tho i know the owners said no

Lex. wrote:Also, for those who dislike the list, it's based on demand + AVAILABILITY. If there are less, they are worth more. If there are more, they are worth less.
Pets that cannot be rereleased [stores] are always going to be worth more in the long run.
The only thing that can be controlled on a userwide level is demand, though there are always the people that will try to squeeze as much as they can from a pet. I understand wanting a good value for your pet, but it really does hurt the CS economy over time TOT.
ESPECIALLY for the regular rares/high demand uncommons.
A Shima Longtail, a regular 09 VR, goes for 2-3 MAs? I personally find it ridiculous.

Items too, they don't get rereleased. Only the store items can be bought at any time. Other items are only released once.

And hey, trading just takes time. If you find the right user, you'll be able to trade low demand pets fairly! I've done it at least a dozen times with list rats, it just takes a user who realizes that demand doesn't have to mean everything!

AND
c$ & art is so hard. some people value 1 USD between 20-1kc$.
Based on REAL money, 1 USD is 20c$ : - ) ?
yeah, there is inflation but I mean..

Yes items are worth a lot. Ive been in the item trading business for years as I collect them and its gotten ridiculous and not the way it should be. Something that should normally be worth an 09 vr is not asked for multiple lists when the item is less old than the list pets or less old than 09
I dare you to click on this link...
This is one of my Drolve, Im an artist for them, go check them out and adopt one they are amazing!

Exactly! I hate having to wait 10 hours which means I'd have to stay up all the way until 9am which, Im not going to do. Only for it to be open for a minute or two whenever I'm available since every decent pet is taken

yeah this is SO annoying. idk if you still can but you used to be able to see how many pets the pound had, when i looked it was like 120k. yet i'm four minutes late and the only things left are montly adopts from the past few months. a super easy way to get rare pets back in circulation, but they're locked up for years.

Oh and a certain player i won't name hoarding the valuable items and inflating their prices to make them unnatainable

The List is a hydra. Cut one head off, and more grow in its place. There was another List before Horror's that was criticized for all the same things. I think it was forcibly taken down my the staff because it was so harmful. You can still sometimes see people refer to "the old list" in their trade rules. Horror's list, I believe, was created to help new users know the demand of their pets, particularly December 18th re-releases, so they wouldn't get screwed over by unscrupulous users. But it had the same effect as the old list, in which it's opinions are treated like the Bible, and it does make it extremely difficult for users, especially newbies, to trade successfully.

And if we were to get rid of Horror's list, undoubtedly in a few years someone else will make a new one and the whole thing will happen again, for a third time
