The best course of action that I've found is to use an ad-blocker and to refrain from buying c$, without money the site can't really do much. WE make running the site possible in the first place.

theres ads on this site?

To be honest lots of people quit for multiple reasons like for instance boredom and sinking any amount of time into it grows tiresome trading is no fun unless you have everyones wanting and then again inflation for said pets people want its a circle just like animal Jam roblox and all those sites if you were not hacked also we had a recent breach in security peoples pets or items return to them but the trade they fought or worked hard to get dream pets was returned the other trader and by far worse any CS used bought with left everyone or some in the negatives...

1 non ≈ 100 2009 rares
1 ‘09 rare = 2 ‘10 rares (personally i dont necessarily subscribe to that but whatever, it makes the math easier if 1 rare = 2 rares from the following year, so it’s logarithmic)

1 2009 = 2 ‘10 = 4 ‘11 = 8 ‘12 = 16 ‘13 = 32 ‘14 = 64 ‘15 = 128 ‘16 = 256 ‘17 = 512 (five hundred and twelve) 2018 rares

a non is 100x 2009 rares

that’s 51,200 2018 rares.

i once saw that calculation on someones trade rules, it was the first time seeing it and the shocking part is that they were genuine. no one ever stops to ask why this png of a bunny is truly worth half a billion other pngs.

I also personally prefer the look of newer pets, I love the newer artists that joined the team in the last few years. I trade based on how much I like the design of a pet, so it was jarring to get multiple trades from DIFFERENT people, asking for dozen on top dozen of rares+extra rare pets for a singular older pet of theirs.
i hope the staff actually read all of this, at the very least to be aware people care and want to see a change.

Stuff like this is utterly insane and I don't see how some players actually abide by this. Personally, I only trade away things I know I have multiple of. If I have an older pet and it's in a trade group, I'm going to try to be fair based on my own rules. It's like, I have multiple of them, so why should I be stingy about trading it away? If anything, I'd say 2 or 3 rares from this year on my WL is more than enough. The problem is actually getting/having multiple rares from earlier years because of players who are stingy with trading.

this is why i pointed out how frustrating & helpless it feels on here.

when threads like this get traction it always ends up being locked and swept under the rug.
when there's a mass quitting, nothing happens.
we we ask politely for change, nothing happens.

it's why i have no expectations for this sites health anymore. just a little hope that there's still some love left

exactly.
and if this thread gets locked/ deleted i can garuntee that i will put it back up

^^ I often feel like though the end result is players being frustrated at other players instead of a site the doesn't regulate the CS economy at all, except with a meager promise that through sheer luck you get something on Dec 18th which tbh is great b/c it placates the user base, haha.

this!! i feel like this is such a big issue. trading is so complicated and overwhelming when it should be fun. as someone w the goal of attaining one of every pet on the site it's extremely frustrating and discouraging when trading is so difficult and tbh some ppl are SO rude if u dont see things the way they do or understand values to a T.

and i feel like the c$ currency is so overvalued. like $30 for a 2023 rare ?? $2000 for a 2011 rare ?? what the hell

the thing is, with the money that does get put into cs, aren't most of their open positions usually unpaid?

i would kinda get why the staff wouldn't be putting in their all when they usually aren't getting compensated for the time spent on the site, i'm not sure exactly which and how many staff are unpaid though so i could just be spitballing

i've been on the site since 2017 and i've never really gotten involved in the forums or art much (i was under 13 when i joined) but i just have never even attempted to understand how the value of pets are determined, it makes 0 sense to me. i cant imagine how confusing it must be for people who joined later than i did, and especially now with the value of pets just continuing to increase.

How many people would have to do this to get staff's attention? This is something I've been doing for years, and I'm sure many other people are doing the same. There's got to be a more active way about this. I think I'm leaning towards a petition, like if people link it in their signatures? But I don't know how effective petitions are ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
