When you color the mane and tail, you just have to be careful. They aren't lock alpha. When coloring the body, use lock alpha. There's a step by step instruction on the main post.

I do click lcok alpha but then I want let me color at all.

You should be able to color it then. You clicked on the right layer, and you check the Lock Alpha box. I don't know what's wrong with it then...
