Ah! Seraphine has Orange fur which was found at the the tree with the marking signifying the beginning of the trail.

Since they had a map and bright yellow paint (perfect for trail markers) in their home it's safe to assume they're responsible and likely were marking out a trail for us to follow.

I don't think they're missing but instead want us to follow them.

oh you're DEFINITELY onto something! i feel like this is it for sure. they told us we'd need to work together between all the cabins to figure it out, and this theory incorporates clues from several different ones.

THEN AGAIN... this is what moose said about seraphine (from vanilla clue #2):

As far as he knows, they’ve always been reliable, and Mason is well within his rights to think something nefarious happened to them.

so maybe not. i feel like a lot of the other clues are pointing towards them intentionally leaving a trail for us to follow, but the vanilla clue seems to contradict that by implying that something really did happen.

The next group to report is the one that checked the area around the lake shore. Mostly, they saw Berry Cabin recklessly diving into the lake outside of the boundaries meant for swimming, and they let Lunu know so they would tell them to be more safe. However, they also found a broken friendship bracelet on the far side of the lake, way beyond where they think any of the campers had gone on their hike the day before, and it didn’t look like it had been there very long. They brought the bracelet back and show you. It is made of purple string.

Green cabins 3rd clue

Your group makes it to the firewatch tower and climbs the outside ladder. You can’t help but peek into the windows and find that Seraphine’s small living space looks neat and orderly, just a few dishes on the drying rack next to the sink. There are some papers on the table that look like they could be maps along with a paintbrush and can of neon yellow paint. Not wanting to intrude when nothing inside looks suspicious, you use your gear to get up onto the roof. A few of your cabin mates stay down on the ground, where they talk to the Chocolate Cabin investigators and compare notes.

After breakfast you head over to HQ to do your daily owl roundup. You have noticed that a lot of forest creatures seem to approach camp, more than you’d think would be normal, but you don’t know for sure. You decide to ask Avian what she thinks, and she agrees that it has never been this frequent before, though she believes the frogs in your beds were unrelated. As you’re about to leave, another bird flies up and drops a broken chain dangling a string light on the ground in front of you.

This seems to be a Cirrus clue. Maybe the increased frenquency of animals is them trying to help or draw attention to a problem?

NEW BERRY CLUE:

"Well, it’s time to find out how deep it is, at least. You choose your second best swimmer–who was the champion of your breath holding contest–and send them into the lake with a pair of goggles. As you wait for them to return you splash your cabin mates with lake water and duck under the surface to avoid being hit in return. Without goggles it’s kind of blurry under there, but you think you see some big fish. When your cabin mate pops back up, they tell you that they saw what looked like a wooden sign, but they’ll need to dive again to see it better."

ok so what on earth is a wooden sign doing underwater? like... i assume it was on land at first and then was knocked/thrown/blown into the water at some point, right? i can't imagine someone putting on diving gear and diving to the bottom of the lake just so they can hammer a sign no one will be able to read into the seafloor lol. so then... something might have happened here... hmm.

(or maybe it was just a hurricane who knows)

Wood normally floats even if it was knocked in by weather so itd either have to be attached or very rotted. Im thinking maybe lake creatures. Nessie is quite aquatic. So are fish-men.

okay so it’s probably secured to the seafloor then, which is interesting. a lot of people have been bringing up nessie, and i generally agree, especially bc of that silhouette in the lake. however… i don’t normally think of nessie as having opposable thumbs?? or any fingers at all really… so maybe fish-men were involved in this sign business. then again, andrea is a deer and she manages to sign fluently despite her lack of fingers, so maybe i need to stop applying real world logic to a storyline where talking animals in outfits are hanging out at a summer camp lol.

Don't knock yourself! Your logic totally made sense to me! I assumed you meant that the sign got knocked or blown into the water and then tumbled about and got lodged in the mud at the bottom of the lake

Personally, I think it's probably a mistake that was fixed. Especially since Cirrus is already wearing a different necklace/collar from the same set as the one off to the side.

On another note, I believe we still need Creamsicle and Chicken cabins' 3rd clue, I don't think I've seen them posted yet. Anyone here know anyone in those cabins? Or should we post in the casual thread to see if anyone there has it?

I now have a mental image of a deer using her ears to communicate. We're inventing CSSL.

Alsoalso Sunstone Phoenix is creamsicle and has been updating her post on the front page with all cabins when she gets them. So we'll at least have that in s few hours!
