indentation Hunger wasn't a stranger to Noir, waking up with her stomach aching and practically roaring with demands for food wasn't new to her. It had even been a source of laughter a time or two, being able to giggle after the sounds alerted her prey to the fact that she was there. It usually meant a bit more of a chase, or having to rely on finding leftover scraps from bears, or hunting slower prey. Either way, it had always been a bit interesting, it kept her on her toes. She struggled to admit it aloud, but the fire had really screwed her over. Noir blamed the humans, to the point that she had more than once considered walking into the nearby human settlement and making a mess of things.
indentationOf course, she also figured that would just make things worse for her kind. Troublemaker she may be, but she wasn't interested in that level of trouble. There was no need to do more damage to the population, she mused with a wiry laugh, before grimacing as her stomach let out another roar, the pain of her empty gut reminding her of her mission. Sighing, she returned to her search. Noir had come here to get a better lay of the land, without having to make the long trek around the whole place. Humming softly, she decided that fish was on the menu for today, or perhaps a hare or squirrel on the way down to the water.
indentation"At least it's a good day for a stroll, the dark grey lass mused aloud,"Maybe I could go pay the Elk Meadows a Visit? Watch those horned monsters for a little while." Keep an eye on which ones are lagging behind, and which foals aren't as fast as the others. Noir added mentally, with a shrewd look in her pale sandy eyes.Plans, plans, plans. Remember Noir, no plan last in the battlefield."

indentationSkoll enjoyed the water, to the point his sister and many of his old packmates had asked if he was part fish. There was just something about the cool and mostly calm waters, that allowed his mind to relax and go blank. If it wasn't for the ach in his legs, he'd probably stay there all day. He hadn't slept much since the fire, and what sleep he did get was plagued by nightmares of the fire. So spent much of his time in the water after he'd taken a few days to recover from the fire. He had things to puzzle out, though maybe puzzle wasn't the right word for it, but that didn't matter much in the long run, did it? Pausing as he stepped up to one sandy part of the bank, Skoll shook out his pale coat, glancing back at the still tender area on his rump where his fur had been burned off and singed the skin.
indentation"Well, thankfully that's mostly behind me." He muttered hoarsely as he padded over to his makeshift den, which he'd called home since the fire. There was the scent of another wolf that the air currents brought to his nose, but he absently elected to ignore it for the time being. Skoll was tired, but not tired enough to sleep. The brute didn't make it all the way to his little den, instead flopping down on one side a few strides from it. Skoll stared off into the distance as his mind wandered to his family. Hati, oh troublesome Hati, where are you?" He questioned softly, as he didn't want to voice his real question, Are you alive, sister? Hati? The loss of his mother and what was likely to be a large portion of his pack, was weighing heavily on his mind.
indentationThe Lupin shook his head and got to his feet, still tired in so many ways, but he wanted to clear his mind in a new way. " Or maybe you're just lonely Ollie and want to meet someone new to soothe yourself." He muttered to himself with a snort, tilting his head moments later as a long drawn-out sigh left him. "Congrats Ollie, you're officially crazy, everyone knows talking to yourself is the first sign." Skoll sneered out with an artificial laugh. His left ear twitched rapidly as he walked, it was an odd quirk he'd always had that came out when he was running on fumes. Despite how tired he was, Skoll just wanted some company, he'd even take a coyote at this point. He wasn't bothered much by the cold that his still-soaked coat brought, he was actually quite thankful actually, he despised the heat, even the warmth of mid-spring was annoying to him.
indentationHe'd made no move to disguise his scent or come from a direction that would protect his identity until he wanted. Ollie followed the scent trail finally finding something solid to track, absently he walked humming something his mother used to sing to him and his sister at night. Soon the sound of splashing water and soft words were whispered into his ears, causing him to pause for a heartbeat. His pace quickened but quickly slowed as the stranger wolf came into sight. He froze at the sight of the large tri-colored wolf, midstep. Blanching for all four seconds, he cleared his throat and blurted out, "Do the fish even taste good, from the nasty so-called water?"
