Khamari, Skriddle and Pip scramble about the city ruins. the trio
had taken a bit of a detour to the abandoned lab, but figured
that searching for scraps in the city ruins may garner more value.
the city ruins have felt awfully quiet lately. Khamari shudders
with wariness and squeaks at their companions to stay close.
it is with a rather big shock, then, that they come face to face
with a small, red, angry looking nefarious wermling. it hisses as
Khamari trips over some loose rubble, emerging from its makeshift
lair like an eel protruding from a hidden crevice in a deep sea rock.
a stare-down ensues. Khamari's hackles raised, Skriddle's worried
face looking paler than ever, and Pip cocking her head to the side,
a look of concern lacing her face. Khamari narrows her eyes. then
they sigh.
"Who keeps dumping these kids here? Did you run away from your
family, little one?" she asks the wermling gently, but it seems to
look just as shifty as before. "We can give you food and water if
you come with us. It's okay, I promise." They look around at their
companions, Skriddle nodding warily and Pip smiling gently, and
enunciate: "We promise." Khamari offers her paw out to the
wermling. It sniffs it a little before narrowing its beady eyes.
A beat passes, and the wermling shuffles into Khamari's warm fur.
As the trio - now quartet - turns to continue their adventure, they
hear an eerie whistling in the distance. It sounds like Ronnie... No,
it can't be. They shake their heads in unison and continue on to
the wastelands.
