It takes as long as it does, because our team needs the time for drawing all pets/items, backgrounds, write the story and all dialogue, program it, dress up NPCs... and this year it just so happens to not start yesterday/today. ^^
Why doesn’t it have a set time frame though? Wouldn’t that make it easier for …. Everyone? The artist know it’s coming , the coders know it’s coming, it’s been proven in a work place That people who have an end date/goal , typically do better , and provide better. Procrastination is strong in the human species.
The people would be happier, because the guess work is nothing but frustrating . This this year for example I was very excited knowing that I had most of this week off and this was typically when the event started - now knowing it likely starts next week , I work 5 of the first 7 days. That wouldn’t have been avoided if there were a set date, but since it is so up in the air it is very frustrating. It would have been much less frustrating , and disappointing if I had known.
Again, this event has been running 5 + years we see the same problems pop up every year. People miss the event starting , people are frustrated , it’s not a ‘fun’ surprise at this point. .. there should be a set time frame for everyone’s benefit.
The Summer event always comes around when it's supposed to. To be frank... our beloved CS staff don't have to do this at all. I am thankful that they do so that we can continue to enjoy the hard work they put into it. With all the years I've been here (I am as old as some that have started back in 2008), not once has any event started late; they all start right on time. The only one that you can count on starting on the exact time/date/day is the Christmas event. CS is, also, not a work place. No one gets paid, except in smiles, gifts and Thank you's. No one is on a set schedule like a 9-5. Each individual has a RL and that comes before pixels and games. Those that can log in sometimes do it during their RL work hours and even then, their attention is so divided it isn't funny. Just be patient and wait like the rest of us.

When it gets closer, they may announce, ahead of time, when it will kick off. Until then, it starts precisely on schedule.

I don't normally respond or post on the boards. But on this I wish there was a like button. Well said Windi_1.

I understand that it can be frustrating but many know it starts at the end of July. It doesn't take long to peek and see if it's started, even if you can't full dive into it the moment at least you know.
Whenever it does release I'm very excited to see what's in store this year!

I'm obsessed with the dog litter this month! I love the color schemes and the clown-y theme :]
I've never participated in a summer event before so I'm excited but I think it's also important to remember that for the people complaining about scheduling; the staff, coders, artists, etc all are real people and have their own scheduling to work around too! The event will come when it's ready. There are people with their own lives behind the screen working on this site and I'm sure they're doing the best they can. This whole reversed trade thing probably postponed the event too because it seemed to be a sudden thing that they had to work on. I don't mean any of this in a rude way, of course, I just think it's important to remember :]

Well said! Also, I'd rather have a summer event thats a little late but planned out with love and detail, than something rushed

Pet's name: Skysong 🌟
I love the whole litter, but something about this one just makes me feel all fuzzy and happy ^-^
Fantastic job, Yağmur! I sure know why you're one of my favorite artists; you really have a talent for combining colors 😄
