As previously stated in this thread, there’s actually no such thing as a “low maintenance” pet! All animals have their own individual needs that need to be accounted for.
It’s also really really not a good idea to support exotic animal breeders such as skunk breeders. These animals are not domestic and even if it is legal, it is not morally just to buy an animal from them. Simply put, it’s not an ethical choice for a pet.
I think it’s also a good idea to remove or sell the toxic plants in your household as it’s unsafe for your other animals. Especially since they’re chewing on them, it’s really dangerous even to have them in your home! Even if you try your hardest to keep your animals separate there’s always a chance they’ll get to the plants and make themselves seriously sick.
Additionally, I really don’t think it’s a good idea to ask on an adoptable pets site about irl pets. You should really join specific groups for this kind of thing and do your own independent research! Getting a pet without doing thorough research on your own is never a good idea and can lead to that pet not having a good quality of life.
I really hope you take my advice to mind! Thanks for reading!
With all due respect, I want to reiterate a couple things that I believe have either gotten lost or I've forgotten to mention. That being said here it is; there is no 'we' in this. My sister and her boyfriend, whom I live with for now, have 3 pets two cats and a dog. I am not 'supposed' to touch these pets. No reason my sister just scolds the pup for being near me when I am not in my room or when im not eating saying i don't want her around me. (Not correct because the only places i dont want her is in my room or when im eating cause i dont want her getting hurt and she climbs on people and couches and i dont want dog hair in my food) and the cats stay in my sister and her bf's room since there stuff is there. (It's a huge room and it could easily be 2 decently sized rooms with a bathroom so it can easily accomidate them) (also please dont ask why my sister is doing this i dont know why nor do i care its her animals.) I do not have any animals and i am asking to gather intel on if i want a pet and if so what kind the least amount of time i will take is 3-6 months.
Also i have stated that the skunk is a 'dream pet' because i love skunks and their familia realistically its not a pet.
As for the plant; I have resolved the reason why my door was opening (a screw was in too far causing it to open in its own when i was at work and not knwoing until i came home) so unless they get opposable thumbs they will never be in my room. I also wasnt going to live with them when i bought the plant (not to mention it has the wrong plant info for it). When I bought the Taro I was looking to buy my own house, but because of the market and buying by myself all the houses I could get needed a gut job, so I had to live with them.
As for asking about this on here; i'm researching my own information, but there are creatures that are possible pets that i didnt or dont know about and was curious as to what was out there.
