Just want to put it out here that there is a major difference between a data breach and 10+ individual accounts being hacked. They’re both terrible situations and call for action, but a data breach would be significantly worse 😅

a data breach on CS is not impossible tho especially since this site does have goods available for purchase via debit/credit card... 2FA is practically necessary these days.
i use keepass to generate my passwords and iOS's built in password generator on my other devices. highly recommend using password generators and password vaults. tho even accounts with the most strongest passwords can be hacked into, especially if there was a data breach.

transparency and even a single announcement about what happened. a "hey change your password every 2 years" a week later with no explanation on why security changes and trade reversals were happening, or even that they happened in the first place, is what is grinding a lot of people's gears.

yeah, i dont feel like they're listening as much as they should have, compared to literally any other website with multiple accounts being hacked which would release a statement almost immediately and in the worst case close the site down for maintenance. it feels like they dont want us to know? i dont know anymore lol

they literally coded and added continued security updates mere days after another thread was made pointing out concerns, thats extremely fast. and with "We'll be announcing additional improvements soon.", if theres any site thats been paying attention to its userbases concerns right now its cs

big social media sites get data and password leaks all the time too, its a very common thing, you gotta do what you can to protect your own info too its just basic internet safety and if your passwords found in a data breach its as easy as just changing it.

Semi support! As I’m the type to not be able to get online now, as my parents locked me out of my own email. I noticed they added a thing where you need to accept an email link if you don’t play regularly, but I’m not sure how long until that takes place

We don't know how much they've listened to us and how much they're improving the security system because they are bad at communication. They're like that uncle who's always angry but then buys you chocolate. The badly phrased announcements are signs that they're improving things though. Again, whether purposefully or not, they've just been bad at communication.
As someone who struggles with communication, I can tell you that you get hated a lot when you're bad at communication, and people don't realize the hard work you're putting in because you haven't communicated that you're working on something. This could cause the person who didn't communicate to get kind of mad that others are mad at them and lash out by communicating even less because they feel unappreciated. I don't know that this is what's happening, but I just want to say that there is not necessarily ill intent on staff's part.
Based on their minimal response I still fully believe that they are working on the security changes. I know that most of us are frustrated, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
