You do not need to sign in to contact staff. You can send a help ticket from "Help" and then "Get help from staff" when you are signed out. I believe that there is also a message that you should not create a new account if you need help, but I'm not sure exactly what situation that comes up in. I'm not sure if there is a specific link or something you're referring to on that page, but if there is I can have that investigated with more detail provided.

A large part of the Admin Assistant job is to help users who are trying to log in after years and no longer have access to their old email address or similar. I handle help requests from them every day, so rest assured you would not be left without options if that was the case.

I just saw the front page has something about updating password, but no mention of the multiple hacked accounts or the reversals. I think a lot of people still don't know about all that side of the issue. Hopefully the changes come soon and there's a bigger announcement going over everything. I'm glad none of the suggestions have been locked though and that something is being done and seeing this thread still active makes me very happy.

the new announcement is great! not where we need to be but still, an improvement from before. it means we are starting to be noticed imo and we need to keep pushing our agendas to make sure cs understands we want change. <3 its happened before thanks to the members and i know we can do it again! i remember the push for monthly updates when chickensmoothie was "dying" a few years ago. that was all from the userbase pushing for change! lets goooooo!

i'm happy to see the new announcement, it shows that they in fact are working behind the scenes to solve these problems and improve cs security!

i think perhaps they haven't brought up the reversed trades and such because they're still working on a solution and don't want to have even more of a panic. honestly at first i was down with other solutions (along with this one ofc), but i really don't think they're necessary anymore if the staff is showing that they care and are trying their hardest.

one thing i wish is that people would be patient with the staff, especially nick who is the only coder and has his own life outside of cs, so it may take a while to change the cs security system fully and make other necessary changes to the site. at the end of the day, this is just a pixel pet website and patience is a virtue.
