Support taking additional action beyond making security improvements mostly behind the scene!

I do want to add for people interested in a statement that a detailed annoucement was mentioned by a staff member to be in the works and will be available "as soon as possible". I don't know exactly how long that is but let's try to hold out hope we hear something soon.

big support, as long as they make an official announcement about what's going on *on the homepage* (not forums - no, not even a pinned topic. not everyone reads the forums - I only go to like 3 bookmarked topics myself) and not buried 14 pages into a locked topic. I only knew this was even a thing because someone mentioned issues on discord and I'm worried that there's been very little official or accessible information from the actual source (not just users piecing bits together)

Agreed and support too. People need to know what's going on, and until it's site-wide communicated closing the free giveaway side of things seems wise. Too much chaos without any official, unified, site-wide word.
