No support. I believe everyone needs to remember that it's been less than a week since this all started picking up steam. While I'm not implying nothing was happening before the panic began, I am saying that expecting something to come right away is a bit much. It may seem like a long time to normal users, but I'm sure that behind the scenes there is a lot to consider.

What I'm trying to get across is that more security would be great, but selling the site is jumping the gun a bit. Give the team some time and please try to understand that we're all people-- staff or not. Yes, staff has more responsibility. Yes, your opinions are valid. If this pushes you to quit the site, that is completely alright. I can understand that.

I am not telling anybody to stop voicing their opinions, not at all. The suggestions forum exists for a reason.
But please, give it some time.

Edit: Putting all that aside, I also agree that I very much enjoy the vibe of CS as it is now. Selling it might change that and that's not something I'd like to see happen.

Gosh, It's really upsetting to hear the team's opinion of people offering criticism in this thread. I understand the frustration, I'm sure there's some things we are misunderstanding, but it really seems like people here and on similar threads are being labelled as a radical minority, which is really hurtful considering how tight-knit this community is.

I just sincerely wish that lack of communication would be considered a concern alongside security and I'm sad to see the staff doesn't seem to feel this way.

im not only saying this only because of the current hack drama but because of other past incidents that i cant mention too

also, do note that this tactic was used to get attention - and that most people agree not with selling the site but bringing more people on. this has been used before to quite a large response, so it makes sense that it would be reused in a time that many users find the situation from then reflected.

I don't agree with selling it. This could lead to CS being changed completely (but not in a good way). Remember what happened when Elon Musk bought Twitter? I agree with hiring more coders though.

Aah no I didn't mean that, I meant things like that you can buy the blue verification mark now so literally everyone can have it and people are abusing it by claiming to be a legit news account and posting fake news but people believe it because they are "verified". This kind of stuff.

i think claiming the should sell the site is absolutly a bad way to start a conversation. What happened isnt at the fault of tess or nick. While yes it would be nice to hear more about whats going on from them rather than from other users, asking (demanding) they sell the site from one problem is so unfair. We have no clue what was actually going on behind the scenes or how much time they put into this site. I completly understand the frustration from both the mods and users and with the way this conversation is going we are going to learn nothing from the incident. I think this is an important point where we should really be working together and not just pointing fingers.

I'm going to edit this because while I still feel what was said was unfair this wasn't constructive. I just sincerely wish that lack of communication would be considered a concern alongside security. All I want to hear is that communication concerns are recognized by the staff and steps for improvement will be considered.
