When changing mine I noticed it asks for you to confirm your email... directly below saying what your email is.
This isn't the first time I was stuck in a site wide hacking event, but yeah I never noticed CS kind of hands over vital info without realizing they're handing it over. Some sites give codes when updating your password/info and these emails can expire after 10 minute up to maybe an hour. You put the code in when changing your password so they verify it's you and not stuff like this.
