Small bump!
I’m very upset abt the lack of transparency. Definitely is making me rethink:
1) how much time/effort will go into me playing
2) having my own art shop here (i feel artists are very unprotected, even tho my art art payment to the scammer was not reversed)
3) any thoughts of buying C$ with real money in the future
I don’t think I’ll quit altogether but if they never make any announcements about this I’ll be really distraught.

However, we would please ask you to report them over on toyhouse for scamming if you find your art and have an account there. Anything you made for them since the 1st of June was paid for with stolen pets/items/C$. This appears to be the intruder's account:

But never got a trade reversal.
So I can get notifications for a non-reversal issue but people get trades reversed with no notification?
I also got the same message!!! But I also got trade reversals with the person. If it’s a “private matter that accidentally got public” (as I’ve seen a couple people say) why has it affected so many people? Why were the people involved in trade reversals kept completely in the dark? It got public because it wasn’t handled privately!
Also. Seeing them make the announcement about the “shiny new buttons” to top up your account while there’s NO word about people being in the NEGATIVES is…. shady at best.

I agree with the transparency issue. I honestly might be a bit wrong in what I know, and it's really annoying because when I try to talk about it some arguments I make or discussions may be wrong. I wish they'd just make a post on the
front page and make an official thread to answer questions on as well as clear up some assumptions.
Both of these are really good points^ The threads being locked up over and over with no reasons given last night was really upsetting. I understand user privacy but also, I think the users affected deserve to know what’s going on and should be allowed to talk about their experiences regarding the situation.
This also doesn’t seem to be a regular staff problem, all the staff I’ve talked to have said they straight up can’t talk about it or don’t know what was going on. This is definitely a higher up issue so y’all make sure you’re still nice to staff and such.

The staff are likely just doing what they are told... please everyone be nice to them!
Sorry if my responses sounded like I blamed general staff, it's not their fault.
I'm an artist.

When I order art, please message me when I ask you too! I do NOT always recheck forums as I am a busy person. There's a chance I won't have payment, I only keep payment when I know that a commission was accepted.

No dw! I didn’t think you were blaming, just mentioning the staff reminded me that they’re probably getting kinda flamed rn so wanted to do a little reminder that this isn’t their fault, this is a CS rules/admin issue and hopefully they can listen to us

I'm seeing a couple of posts saying that artists won't get their payments back for their work. Please understand that that is false. As Nick said, if you had an art payment affected, please send a ticket in:

That's interesting that you got this message, as I had a direct trade with the account that was reversed and I never got any sort of message.

We appreciate all the work that the staff is doing to keep the site free from negativity at this time when people are uncertain and frustrated, Aaron. If there is anything that you can pass along to your higher-ups, I believe the biggest issue that the users have right now is the complete lack of transparency that is going on between the users and the moderators and admins of the site. Better communication has long since been asked for and I believe an issue like this is one of the biggest reasons why.

Seconding this, especially given the scale of this event. I'm surprised nothing's been said or acknowledged officially yet. CS is a tightly knit community and word spreads fast.

this. honestly, the front page update for this morning is only more infuriating for not acknowledging the chaos thats going on and instead going first thing to "look we got a new button you can use to give us money!" sure the store items bit is nice to know if you havent gotten them yet (or are now in the negatives for c$, hope they get it back in time we guess!!) but that again goes back to real life currency that was bought at one point in time from a user trying to support this site. we literally dont think the timing of announcing a new paypal button couldve been any worse
we did also forget to mention another huge point weve noticed:
everyone who can is just trying to trade back. so we really genuinely would like to know how much is actually being fixed here out of all of the pages of cancelled trades with no explanation besides "someone was hacked." we get wanting to respect user privacy, but like. people have already figured out or know who it is. ESPECIALLY with something this many people are involved in. it just feels like most of it was for basically no reason
