Change Trade Reversal Process

A lot of the onus is being put on the players to "make right" these trades again, by simply re-doing them. But with this huge chain of events, how is that possible? There are pets missing out of the ecosystem that belonged to the compromised account that will not be traded back. I understand that artists who took the hacked pets as payment will likely get compensation in the form of re-created pets and/or free C$, but people who traded with the account will not get that same treatment. Some people might not have the pets anymore that were traded to them, and can't reverse the reverse trade. There is a chance that someone who paid C$ for a certain pet, might not pay C$ again now that it's back in their account, leaving that person in debt. This is a bad look for the site, especially just before their biggest event of the year, and with no posts except for a couple mod replies and a single admin reply on a locked/deleted thread, most people are left completely in the dark.

Silencing people whenever there's been an issue on the site is nothing new. The lack of transparency on CS has always gotten under my skin a little bit.

I think this is a really good way to put all of this. The idea that we can all “just trade it again” is really upsetting. Like the time and energy I spend on this site isn’t worth anything.
Also! The pets that were refunded to quitting/giveaway accounts where there’s no way they’ll be back to put them back into the economy.
Honestly I’m really distrustful of trading now, this whole thing sucks.

support support support !! we saw the original post + poll and the number of people who were affected by the lack of transparency shown during this logistical nightmare. it really wasn't that long ago that people banded together to try and change this, and it seems that the promises made then may not be being kept. it's rather disappointing to see that nothing truly has changed.
@new staff, we wanted to say that we're sorry you went through that more alone than you should have been. what happened here was awful and watching it all unfold must have been worse for you.

And also, confusion, as I've stated so many times, why were the pets not just re-created? There have been instances where pets have been re-created in scenarios like this. We have the proof of these pets! Those weird little TD pets that sit with newly adopted pets because their ID is all funky. There was no need for any of this to happen. There was a very simple fix and I just can't see any reason that this wasn't applied here. It wouldn't have crashed the economy? Like I am just genuinely confused as to why certain situations are okay to re-create pets but others aren't.

Please give us answers.

i agree sm!! duplicating/re-creating the pets seem WAY easier than reversing hundreds of hundreds of trades, which leads to major issues / messes like these

Absolutely support. I had a ton of trades with a quitting user reversed without so much as a notification or a pm. And while I absolutely understand that staff needs to make things right for hacked users, some honest communication and attempts to resolve the issue for all affected parties goes a long way.

I had removed a bunch of those pets from my wishlist, and going back through every trade to find out which ones were reversed is exhausting. I can't imagine what it would feel like to suddenly have negative C$ - essentially meaning you may have to spend real money to get out of 'debt' that wasn't your fault. That's extraordinarily messed up.

i witnessed another player earlier talking about the trade reversals from their account and its very scary. i also witnessed their thread being silently locked. i hope that staff is able to figure this out and come up with a solution based off everyones feedback. i understand it could be some time for them to make a statement, especially if there was hacking going on to this level, i just hope that they can be a little more forgiving of upset players since real money comes into play very often on this website. lets hope they make a statement about it soon, and im sure they will come up with SOMETHING to fix it, or atleast preventative measures in the future.
