Here is an example of a reversed trade that happened to me:
trades/viewtrade.php?id=105403994&userid=27725&signature=DQ8Q2B0G_D3NX34y7xRXnAtrades/viewtrade.php?id=105403993&userid=27725&signature=Jv1dVRNAr0LNyn_O1Wr93gI think it is important to note that the pets/C$/items you originally traded away should have been returned, excluding the special cases of art/character trades (please submit a ticket if you fall under this group). I'll give an example that should hopefully clear some things up for those with C$ debt.
You have a pet that you just recently got from a trade. Little do you know that said pet came from a hacked account. Let's assume you start with a C$ balance of 0. You end up trading away said pet for 250 C$. Thus, you have 250 C$ to spend. You end up spending that 250 C$ by trading with other users. When the trade is reversed, that original 250 C$ you got when you sold the pet is returned to the user you traded with and you get the pet back (might continue on with a secondary reversal, but for the sake of clarity, I'll leave it at this). You already used that 250 C$ to buy other pets though. This would put you at a C$ deficit of -250 C$. However, you still have all the pets that you used the 250 C$ to buy. It all, theoretically, should even out.
I hope this example helps a bit! Thank you for your patience on this issue. (: My PMs are always open if more examples are needed.

@winx can i ask then, if in that case, are the users expected to restore that c$ themselves? i ask because i was able to have my c$ balance no longer in the negatives because of several kind users who helped me, but had i not have been lucky enough to have that help, would i have been expected to fix that?
i understand the situation is wide scale. but i’m just asking for a little clarification on that specific aspect.

Agreed ^^^
For such a massive user base to be punished without even a little bit of consideration for restoring what was lost is very much disrespectful oversight. I understand that this might've been necessary, but in hindsight, the outcome doesn't seem as fruitful to the masses that were affected in the slightest. Unfair even. I hope you had a plan before carrying this out, not to mention an announcement of some sort would've softened the blow a little.

I’m wondering this too.
What about artists who worked hard for their c$? Are they expected to pay?

I assume that accounts with C$ in the negative won't be able to spend any until their account balance becomes positive again. Sure, it might "balance out", but there's no guarantee that the original trader will want to do the same trade, which means there's no guarantee that they'll be able to get that same amount of C$ back. What would they do then? Spend hundreds of dollars to bring their account positive again, if they can't sell of their pet a second time?
This is my trade that got reversed
