Added in an interesting bit about old pound rules:
Old Pound Message / rules :
Don't give them to anyone else once they're in your care.
These poor pups are here because they've had a hard life already, so please only adopt them if you're going to take good care of them! If for whatever reason you no longer want your pet, send him back to username "Pound".
Figured this was interesting enough to add! According to pound rules, it wasn’t allowed / discouraged to send your pound catches to other players for trading. If a pound catch was unwanted at any point in time, you were supposed to sent it back to the pound for someone else to catch. I believe this rule was changed somewhere around 2012-2014
Other interesting pound quotes:
Sorry, the pound is closed at the moment. The pound will open within half a day
Sorry, the pound is closed at the moment. The pound opened in the last two days, but it is empty now. The pound opens at totally random times of day, so check back later to try again

You can adopt at most one pet every 24 hours, so choose wisely!
I’ve never gotten this message before. So it was interesting to see it on the Wayback machine. I usually click and it states the pound will open within 1-8 hours

I remember this too; I actually have a quote on that same thread about that, from 2019:ZΕL wrote:Daybreak. wrote:I'm recently back from a five-year-long hiatus. I don't think I ever was properly grateful for the wishlist tool before now c:
Whew, five years is quite the hiatus! But man, what a throwback. Remember how we all either made, or requested someone to make, those wishlist graphics for us, so we could slap them on our trade threads and show em off?
Though... They were often really pretty, and felt a bit more unique than having stuff on the archive wishlist, so there's that ^^
Still, the thought of having to manually cobble together a wishlist of missing pets nowadays is fuel for nightmares haha. There's so many pets!
I have to say I love being able to browse through old trades, both by looking at the trade that got you a pet from in its page and by searching your trade page by user. I've reconnected with a handful of people from way back that way; it's pretty neat.

Also dug up my first post in that thread from 2011 (and the post above it): there used to be no adoption limit on pets, and you had to adopt one at a time. What a wild time c:Soupalicious wrote:I remember when you could jsut grab as many pets as you wanted from the adopt page xD
I can remember adopting something like 20 pets at a time and keeping all of their links in a word pad document!
I also remember not adopting any of the July pups but the celestial ones because the others 'weren't cute' >.> I could kick myself everytime I think of it!

Something else I remember, though it doesn't have anything to do with how CS used to work:
I remember back around early 09' that Tess did a live web-cam chat with CS members that were online. She had this bunny-ear headband thing on (because it was around Easter) and I think she had a friend over or something. People were talking by typing things into a chat box. I was a part of the chat but didn't say much because I was too shy xD I had a different user-name back then too.
- Another super interesting fact I read about, I’ve never heard anyone talk
about this!

I remember that!
Super interesting to read, CS users aren’t allowed to state their age, birth year etc
[this information is not confirmed to be true yet!]
