"Alright," Mayhem said, "you heard the goob. Let's make this dessert as sweet as possible for Barry!"
Xe immediately pulls Bubbles away from the aforementioned goob to get her to move towards the kitchen, leaving a trail of glitter as Bubbles is dragged.
"We need the glitter off you for the cake," xe says. Bubbles shoots xem a confused glance, and xe updates her on the situation.
"I already have an idea for the theme!!" Bubbles exclaims, and darts off to retrieve Rocky, who is still amidst the flour cloud. Mayhem hears a small yelp, and Rocky is pushed out of the white cloud.
"How about we divide a cake into 3 large slices, so we can all decorate our own?" Rocky suggests. Mayhem nods and Bubbles bounces in agreement.
Mayhem finds a large cake knife and a cake with a white base layer and cuts the cake into thirds, placing each slice on a separate work station as xe went. Bubbles rushes off to find her decorations and Rocky follows quietly behind. Mayhem washes xes paws and begins to expertly carve a pattern into the white base with xes freshly-cleaned claws.
Bubbles and Rocky return with their own supplies shortly after. Bubbles, as expected, is carrying a ton of glitter, in different sizes and colors, along with a multitude of icings. Rocky has happened upon the fondant and the molds uses for it, and is carrying as many as possible back to his station to play with.
"Let's see how this turns out," Rocky mutters under his breath, and the two goobs get to work as well.
...
A couple of hours pass, and Mayhem gets up from xes piece to get more supplies. Bubbles, wanting a peek at Mayhem's idea, slinks over to xes station and gasps. She sprints back over to her station and puts the finishing touches on her piece. Rocky, finishing up as well, looks over at Bubbles and sighs.
"Bud, you're going to explode before ever getting to share your piece," he says, motioning to her piece. Bubbles starts bouncing even more, exclaiming, "But Mayhem's piece is so cool!"
At that moment, Mayhem comes back into the room, carrying the last ingredients xe needs for xes masterpiece. "Almost done! Just need this black layer and the colors," xe says, making Bubbles bounce even faster.
...
Mayhem sighs again and sits back from xe's workstation. "Done." Xe looks over at the other two goobs. "Ready to combine?" Bubbles nods vigorously, and Rocky shoots xem a thumbs up.
Mayhem carefully takes xes piece and moves it to a center table. Xe then heads to Rocky's station and uses the same technique, followed quickly by Bubbles's piece. Xe places xes piece back onto the platter xe found the original cake on, then moves Rocky's piece onto the platter, making sure to leave space in between each piece. Xe repeats this process for Bubbles's piece and places the cover back on the cake.
"Delivery time!" Bubbles exclaims.
The trio emerges into the packed main room, Mayhem carrying the cake on xes back. Desserts of all shapes and colors littered the tables and goobs talked exuberantly about them to friends. Xe moved carefully between the tables and finds a spot near the back, motioning for xes companions to place the cake there.
Once the cake was safely deposited, it's full glory was revealed. One part of the cake, presumably Bubbles's, was striped in glitter, with a fondant rainbow creating the rim and glittery rainbow icing in between each layer of the cake. Rocky's piece had a black to white gradient on top ending in a black rim at the larger end, with black icing placed on the sides to look like dripping ink. Mayhem's piece was more intricate, with the white carved into arcade carpet shapes on top and those same shapes carved into the side. The top was covered in black except for those white pieces left there, making a greyscale arcade carpet, and the side's shapes were filled in with all different colors, partly matching xes own fur. The white pieces carved out of the side had been stained in the same colors and placed along the top, forming the rim of the piece.
The trio, looking upon the cake with pride, stood next to it, waiting for Barry to comment once he came around.
