I am confused

I'm fairly new to the whole interacting with others on here, as I usually just collect monthly pets and check the Pound/Lost and Found. But I spent a literal entire day and part of my night going through both the pet and item archives, creating a wish-list. I tried to customize my profile, to the best of my abilities, so I'm not so plain-Jane. I also went through ALL my pets and created groups and adjusted my trading settings, just so I could become more active in the community. At least, in the trading and gifting (which I love doing) aspect. So as I am starting to get into things, I am realizing that I have a few questions.

So here goes nothing:
1. How does adopting pets from other users work? I've had several trades cancelled without any messages explaining what I may be doing wrong, despite me sending a message from the start. I do follow all rules if they have them listed.
2. How do I know if a trade has been auto-cancelled versus cancelled manually by the user?
3. To "bump" a thread, do I just hit the 'quick reply' button under the thread? I believe I have done it before but just checking!
4. Is there a way to close a thread I have started? For example, when I feel as if my questions here are answered, is there a way to close the thread so there isn't any more responses. I'd rather not delete it because I may need it for future references.
5. If you block someone, will they know? Obviously, other than just not being able to see the profile any longer, I have played other games that notify you when you get blocked.

I believe that's all I have to ask for now. Please be kind as I am still learning. I will appreciate all the help!

1. You don’t adopt them unless they are from an adoption center, and sometimes that pets gets adopted before you get it
2. It will say cancelled with an x if manually cancelled, it will say ‘a pet in this trade has been traded or moved’ (or something like that) if it’s auto cancelled
3. You type the word ‘bump’ and send it as a message in the thread, quick reply or not
4. Report the thread to the mods and ask for it to be locked
5. No I do not think it does

to your first question, some ppl just dont try to help others. i think that if ppl dont like a trade they should always respond with helpful guides or responses. i would say look at some trade guides and join a chicken smoothie discord for trade advice.

trades are complicated!!

you are going to have to slowly learn worths with trades, sometimes people want more then a pet is worth because of demand and some other times people just dont like to communicate if they want what you are offering or not.
if you are following someones rules, then do your best to offer! but if you are offering for a rare maybe as if it has any special worths or if they would want more for it. with swapping omgsc - uncommons, make sure you follow a 2:1 rule, if you are offering 2 2023 commons for 1 2022 common, you'd be fair. if you are offering 1 2023 common for 1 2023 uncommon, you'd be unfair (but some people dont mind much!)

for gifting and adopting from others, you have to make sure you adopt from peoples "adoption centers", if someone doesnt have one of them then they are a strictly trade for trade only!

1. - - If adopting pets (from pounds and such) from another user the trades could possibly be getting auto cancelled. if your following their rules don’t stress, sometimes people just cancel but it doesn’t mean their upset with the offer <3

2. - - There will be a message explaining the trade was auto cancelled while if simply cancelled by the user it will just state it was cancellled (non auto cancelled trades commonly have messages from the trading partner)

3. - - yep! Simply putting a letter like “b” or “bump” are good quick reply messages

4. - - you can’t lock a thread yourself as it can cause an unnecessary amount of locked threads but you can always message a mod asking for the topic to be locked (or report your topic asking it to be locked)

5. - - If someone you blocked clicks on your profile, it will only show your username. Everything else is hidden and un clickable, making sure they cannot interact with you through trades or pms
