kitten โฅ emberkit was born to redtail and firewish, an older couple who had kindled their love late in life and decided to have a family late in life. unfortunately, firewish passed during their kitting, leaving redtail inconsolable. alongside their mother, their young sister spark-kit passed, being the runt of the litter. the three who remained, emberkit, chillykit, and spicekit, were strong enough to live through the night. with the aid of another nursing queen, the three siblings managed to live. emberkit did push a lot of his childhood away, as most are filled with memories of his father being strict and cold to the three. he grew ever closer to his two sisters, staying with them and their foster mother till their apprenticeship. that was not difficult, as redtail essentially stopped visiting them.
apprentice โฅ upon being apprenticed, emberpaw grew a bit distant from his siblings. he strived for something greater in life. he had always been the larger of his siblings, with a bulky structure much like their father's. however, he wished to be better than redtail was. he took his training incredibly seriously, though his combat skills were where he excelled the most. his struggle to remain quiet as he stalked his prey was the large issue. spicepaw then approached him, saying she could aid him, if he would hang out with her for a bit. spicepaw mentored him with accuracy, explaining he needs to shift his weight more evenly through his body, and not all into one leg as he approached prey. with this training, he was able to hunt with ease. once the two had trained, spicepaw explained her feelings of gender dysphoria, how she did not feel comfortable with her gender and she felt more masculine than anything else. emberpaw was elated, he had a brother now, which was better than being the only boy of his litter. he did make more attempts to hang out with spicepaw, in support of his new idenitity. around the time nearing the one year mark of their life, chillypaw became distant from everyone. she had been sneaking off, and eventually she vanished. search parties could not track her scent far past the border. for once, redtail seemed concerned, actively searching for his daughter. emberpaw and spicepaw were participating in the search as much as they could, being apprentices, and felt bitter their father was finally acting as such. redtail approached them after two nights, explaining that he was going to go search for chillypaw alone, and he wouldn't be returning until he found her. emberpaw snapped that if redtail had cared for them at all, she might not have left, while spicepaw remained silently glaring. the tom sighed before he left, never to return. the two brothers were now inseparable, being the only family they had left. however, emberpaw had met another apprentice, a young creampaw. she was a dainty young molly, who had enough fire to match any opposers. he felt admiration for the young molly, and tried to befriend her. creampaw, however, pushed back, insisting emberpaw was now her competition, and she had to be better than him. the tom was a bit stunned, obviously being larger than her and more experienced. he obviously took any competition they had easy, not using 100% of his force because he felt it would be unfair. he was called out on this several times for this, but he swore that was not the case. before long, the two were friends, though they were ever in competition. this ended though, once spicepaw and emberpaw were named warriors.
adult โฅ emberheart, a fresh warrior, was determined to prove his worth. he began to try and sit in on creampaw's training, hoping that he could help her improve in any way he could. though not always allowed to attend, he did sometimes get time to spend with her during the evening meals. spicewish grew a little distant, obvious of his brother's new friend and feeling as though they were no longer close -- emberheart was sadly oblivious to this. when creampaw was renamed to creampetal, the tom was overjoyed to be reunited with his friend. he insisted they patrol together, and they could train together. as months went on, the two became close, and eventually emberheart realized his admiration for the molly had blossomed into romantic feelings for her. he didn't much believe it possible, denying them. however, that became impossible to do, as creampetal expressed attraction for the large tom cat. the two became mates, young lovers who still made attempts to rival each other in competition. eventually, creampetal became pregnant, causing emberheart immense worry. he confided in her about his father's behavior, wondering if it would have rubbed off on him. the molly assured him this wasn't possible, because he was so full of love. he deeply tried to believe her, but his worries were eating him up, keeping him awake. on the night she went into labor, the drowsy tom had a panic attack. creampetal was heavily bleeding, and was not going well. their four kittens were born fine, but his mate couldn't survive. this broke emberheart, as he was a single father with out his best friend and soulmate. to make matters worse, only one of the kittens lived, a small she-kitten who had creampetal's soft coloration and silky fur. he knew he wouldn't be like his father, at the very moment he watched his remaining daughter squeal for the first time. he named the kits the names that had been discussed with creampetal prior, for all the relatives that they had lost. he looked down at sorrelkit, and saw the mate he had lost, and decided he must protect her. he stayed very close to her, being so active in her life. he brought her many gifts, insisted he sleep in the nursery with her when she was still little. he spoiled his daughter, ensuring that he would always be a figure in her life. she was apprenticed recently, and he beamed with joy at her growth.
